We played more zone this game

Than the entire time Cal has been here. I thought it was funny and every player looked lost. I think Cal knew this would help South Florida and Orlando not get embarrassed Imo.

What kept USF from being embarressed was the mass substitutions and Ulis only playing a quarter.

I will give credit to USF for hitting a lot of tough garbage mid-range jumpers against the zone in the 2nd half. At the college level you will take those shots against most teams as most college kids can't shoot mid range jumpers consistently. They nailed almost everyone.

USF shot the ball pretty well, and Cal definitely took it easy on them.

Wouldn't hold my breath expecting much zone. With the quickness we have out front, the only need we have for zone is in practice. No point in playing it in the game.

The defense was fun to watch tonight. Matthews, Briscoe and Ullis could be great on defense by March.
