He is such a great kid to listen to!! He seems so intelligent, so well spoken, so mature for his age. We gotta get this guy!!

Get Bamba and you are holding teams to under 40% shooting on a nightly basis.
With him and Richards on the floor with Washington (or Vanderbilt) + Green and Diallo, UK will be the premier defensive team in college ball and it won't be close. Opponents will average <38% from floor. God only knows how we will score!

If we don't, it won't be for lack-of-effort. Quade is working him and obviously Cal and the staff are doing their thing.

nope, i think he is going to wait until the rosters are set and then decide.

I think basically, waiting on UK and Duke's rosters to see.

Duke's is pretty well set at this point. Jeter transferring, Giles hiring agent, Jefferson gone, Tatum gone. Only thing to decide is if he wants to play alongside Carter or not.

but i think, recruiting wise also. You still have question about Duval and Knox. See where those end up.

Seems like he could be Anthony Davis part 2...
No he is not.Anthony Davis is a once in a lifetime type talent. Some are setting this kid up to be unfairly thought of as a failure when he doesn't live up to these crazy expectations.

The look of their roster has yet to take shape, however.

If Allen/Kennard return, Duke runs a three guard offense with Knox at the 4. That swings Carter to the 5, where he has Bolden backing him up.

Throw Bamba into that equation, and K now has to mix and match a bit. Bamba is probably waiting on a lot of roster elements at this point from Duke as well as Kentucky.

Plus, he keeps Kentucky as the biggest target on the map in college hoops next year if he comes to Lexington. Cal has known for some time that landing as many NBA-level impact guys as possible is the way to keep UK at the top of the mountain. Monk and Fox certainly fit that bill. Bamba would as well.

It's why UK continues to dominate. Success leads to more success because these young men trust Calipari. Adding Bamba this year, as well as Bagley next year, is actually more important than going to a Final Four from a recruiting perspective. These elite guys say to themselves and their families, "If Player_____ trusts Cal, I can trust Cal. Look how it turned out for them. That can be me."

I know it's obvious and overstated, but these recruitments are huge. Bamba keeps UK on the map next year if he chooses BBN. That map will matter more to the next group of guys like Bagley more than what happened in the 2014 Final Four.

We are gonna have lots of games 65-52 nect year

And that's fine. Look at all these tournament games. Most of them are a grind-fest. UK, with Bamba, will have the capability of shutting down any offense. With juggernauts like Kansas, Duke and UNC losing their veterans this spring, it opens the door for the better youthful teams to take a step forward. UK will be right there, alongside a few others. I'm actually looking forward to a roster that can matchup with anything.

i don't care that he is well-spoken.

Got damn he looks like a complete game changer.

I won't address "well-spoken", but I do want "good kids" at UK!

When we hired Cal, my concern was that he may have had a history of recruiting kids of questionable character. Maybe that was the only way to be competitive at basically 2 mid-majors. So my hope was, that given UK's name and prominence that he would be able to be more selective, and get good kids who are also good players. So far I think he has been successful at that.

I don't see the Anthony Davis references at all with him.If I compared him to anyone it would be Nerlens Noel.Lanky shot blocker but not strong on offense at this point.

Bolden is still there but I can't imagine Bamba's being scared away by Bolden.
P.S.He's coming to UK.

I didn't say he is AD, I said he could be. Big difference. The potential is there.

I think his wingspan and upside is more comparable to Davis.

If we add Bamba the length of next years team will be insane. Great defensive potential with that bunch, will make switching a lot less risky.

True, but some Duke fan posted recently that K abhors playing 2 bigs together. If they lose Allen/Kennard, they probably get Duvall, and another guard to go along with Trent and Jackson and still play 3 guards. That's K's M.O. If they don't get Knox or Bamba, they are going to be totally reliant on Carter and a bunch of guards.
