We are playing Florida Saturday night.....

Don't get me wrong I am loving it too but we have bigger and better things than Owen's latest loss. With respect to you also, it pains me to see their crappy name on so many threads. I hope you can celebrate both outcomes after Saturday night.

Hell yes! I'm already getting fired up, baby! This is a chance to end an embarrassing streak, and put ourselves right smack in the middle of the race for the SEC East Championship. If that doesn't get you jacked up, I don't know what will. I'm going to have a hard time functioning until tomorrow night.

BIG, BIG, GAME. Biggest game played in Lexington since 2007. Can't believe wasting time reacting to a Louisville loss that was predictable and should have looked worse for them. That program will find its sad destiny without all of us sending out bad mojo 365. Save it for November, people. Time for a GATOR FRY!!! Let's get that oil hot!

Flying out this evening...can't wait!

Cheer loud enough for all of us D/FW Wildcat fans who would love to be there. I can't believe I was a 22-year-old student at UK, and at the game, the last time we beat them. Now I'm 50 and still hoping to see us beat them again at some point. The difference about this year and the last 28 is that we may very well have the best team this time.

I will represent DFW for all my UK brothers and sisters....we have thousands in the DFW area.

You need to hook up with us sometime this season, our Derby Party at Lone Star is great!

I was also at the game during my senior year at UK.

Nice, chilly, perfect football weather for a night game as I remember it. It was a big win, as SEC wins always are. But nobody thought about running onto the field that night. The two programs weren't that far apart back then. We would have beaten them again the next time they came to Lexington, if not for Emmitt Smith being a Gator.

Chance of wind and rain Sat night. Think that may help us, especially if we start fast and get the lead.

I am hoping we make their freshman QB's road debut a nightmare. Mr. Grier, meet Mr. Lewis and Mr. Hatcher . . .

I remember it being very cold. But since I had Makers Mark with me, it wasn't a bother. :sunglasses:

Early season trips to the swamp gives the Gators an advantage. I would love to see it evened out by sending them here and at Tennessee for some November games

Some claim that if you have 2 QB's, then you don't really have a QB.
I disagree.
Sometimes when you have 2 QB's, you really do have two starter quality QB's.
And everybody else's defense has to plan and practice for both if they have different styles, which these two QB's do have.

Add to that depth with 3 'starter quality' RB's. K.Taylor, Jordan Cronkrite, and Jordan Scarlett.
Then there's the 3 starter quality TE's, J.McGee, D.Goolsby, C.Lewis
And how about 3 starter quality LT's: M.Halter, D.Sharpe, and M.Ivey.
(the last 2 were #2 ***** and #1 ***** coming out of HS, the other is a Sr AA)

I'm thinking that having 2 QB's, 3 RB's, 3 TE's, 3 LT's etc. is a very good thing,,, not some kind of an imagined handicap....

Florida senior OG/C Trip Thurman on freshman LT Martez Ivey coming back and playing on Saturday:
“It would be big, as far as depth. He looked really good all through preseason camp. I think it would be a big help up front. I know he’s still a young guy, but he knows a lot of football already.’’

The difference having quality TE's can make:
Gators TE's DeAndre Goolsby (132 yards), C’yontai Lewis (50) and Jake McGee (18) in 2 games have combined for 200 receiving yards (and 3 TD's), currently 2nd in yds in the SEC behind Arkansas (234).
Florida’s 2 rsSr TE's only had 237 yards receiving yds (with 2 TD's) total in 2014. [poop]

Don't want to take my word for it, then try this?
“I think that Grier is more of a pocket passer guy, and Harris is athletic and can make plays with his feet. But they're both good at both of those things, though. (see stats above) Can't count Grier out from running and can't count Harris out from passing.” – Kentucky DC D.J. Eliot on UF's 2 QB's.

PS - Gator Jr DT Joey Ivie already has 3 of UF's 6 sacks for 2015.
Your QB should have his 'track-shoes' on and be ready to run for the game. chomp

Glad UofL lost. I've got to say though, Clemson is very overrated and so is their QB. That being said we need to beat Florida and end this streak.

Drag your boys asses up here in November and see how much they like it. Florida boys aren't going to like playing in 30 degree temps.

I am going to be in a tent watching the game on my phone so hope all of you going cheer loud and help rattle the Gators!

just dont be surprised when 7 of the best players on O are UK players and dont be surprised when 4 or 5 our defenders look a lot like the kinda guys you usually get.

Sort of agree here, it doesn't matter a damn bit if the talent differential is huge, which it usually has been over the decades this has been going on.

Still think we have a great shot tomorrow though.

Its all being said in a negative light about them so don't worry.

And who cares what your thoughts are ?

BIG, BIG, GAME. Biggest game played in Lexington since 2007.
I don't know if that's true, and I'm not sure it is accurate to load up that much expectation on this 1 game. I have seen this same statement made about a lot of Kentucky football games since 2007. Sure, we want to beat Florida. I get all the excitement, but this is 1 out of 8 SEC games and all will be important. Beating UL in Lexington in 2009 got UK on track for another bowl, and framed Randall Cobb as a future All American. Wins over South Carolina in Lexington in 2010 and 2014, and the win over Tennessee in 2011, were considered quite important at the time. The 2011 win broke Tennessee's long winning streak. In your defense, breaking the losing streak to Florida is important too. No doubt about that. Getting to 3-0, with EKU and Charlotte still ahead, would guarantee at least 5 wins, make a bowl very likely, and would also bring an 8-4 season into realistic striking distance. But if Florida beats us tomorrow, I still think we can have a great season and a trip to a bowl. Before this season is over, a lot of other games will be labeled as the most important game. Next week's game is bound to get some votes, because beating the reigning SEC East champs would be a huge deal for this team and for Coach Stoops.

I've been saying all offseason that this is a game UK should win. I still believe that is true, but I do think Florida will be a tougher matchup for UK than South Carolina was precisely because this is going to be a battle of defenses and UK's hasn't impressed me too much to date. UF's offense is young and raw. If there is an offense the defense can stop it should be this one. I don't anticipate it being a high-scoring game, but I think UK wins by a TD lead.

OP represents Tennessee in his screen name but doesn't want UK fans celebrating little bro's beautiful 0-3 start .... SMH

If you don't grasp the symbolism and psychology of breaking The Streak in the very first SEC game played in the rejuvenated stadium, I can't help you. Tomorrow night will feel like an exorcism if the win is secured. Sure, other big games will be played this season. However, my statement is that right now, our football team is about to play the biggest game it has played in 8 years. I'm sticking with that. I am not talking about winning. I am talking about winning convincingly.

The streak has to die but we also have to take that next step this year. We can't just do a little better and feel good about it. We need 7 or 8 wins and this game is looming as very winnable.... so let's win it.

Then next year is gonna be wayyy different in expectations and rankings. Will help with recruiting too. Got to keep msu and the like away from our guys this year.

No one reply to the biggest Homer I've seen this side of petjurino.. dude hasn't made one post that is anything but pumping the gators..

..will you come back tomorrow night eight before midnight ? My guess is no, if you loe

OP's screen name represents being a Cat fan in Tennessee and hasn't asked anyone not celebrate Owen's start.
