We are almost lock for 3 seed

Well there is no team we could play that would be a bad loss now. If we lose to a Vandy, Georgia, Arkansas, Miss State, Oklahome or Texas team in our 1st game it depend on what others do.

St John's winning today hurt us because we could jumped ahead of them if they are ahead of us. They might be a 2 seed or maybe a 3 seed and if they are same seed as us where we land within the bracket regional wise might matter.

Never know
If St Johns is a 2 and we’re a 3, I bet they’ll find a way to get us in the same region

This is why I rooted for Marquette this guy s ranked 7th on matrix

SEED: TEAM (CONFERENCE)
1: Auburn (SEC)
1: Duke (ACC)
1: Houston (Big 12)
1: Florida (SEC)

2: Alabama (SEC)
2: Tennessee (SEC)
2: Michigan State (Big 10)
2: St. John’s (Big East)

3: Texas Tech (Big 12)
3: Kentucky (SEC)
3: Wisconsin (Big 10)
3: Texas A&M (SEC)

4: Iowa State (Big 12)
4: Purdue (Big 10)
4: Maryland (Big 10)
4: Arizona (Big 12)
If Mich St wins out (today v UMich and the Big Ten tournament, I think the committee will put them in the 1 seeds. Sweep the regular season and tournament title in arguably the 2nd best conference, hard to argue

Kinda wish we had texas a&m's spot in the conf tourney, but I assume georgia will advance to play us, then we get alabama.........who knows, alabama just barely beat auburn...

And I think UK could advance farther in the ncaa, just based on how good the sec is...now if we could only play several non-conf teams in the main ncaa tourney. I hope we make sweet 16. its very possible.

Even if we outright won the SEC tournament, they wont give us a 2 seed.

They got us at a 3.

Is it still gonna be :

East
1) dUKe
2)St. John's
3) Kentucky
etc. ?

or is that too transparent and they go with :

Midwest
1) Houston
2) Michigan State
3) Kentucky

or some combination, cause with 2 #1 seeds going to the SEC, you wont be putting Kentucky into any of those regions, presumably. And so it looks like dUKe or Houston's region we be a goin' to regardless of who the 2 seed is.
You can count on Duke, St Johns, KU and Arkansas being in our region(and they will probably
figure a way to get UL in there also)

If I had to play one of those teams, it'd be Arkansas.

because they were shooting the lights out...I don't believe they could do it again.

Most years when we think we deserve a 3 we will be a 5 or 6. I’m not buying it until I see it.
Difference is this year our metrics are in line with the seeding. Other years our record overall looked better but our quality wins and bad losses mixed with our 20-26th ranking in metrics didn’t warrant a higher seed. This year we have 10 quad 1 wins, no bad losses and are ranked higher in the metrics used for seeding. 2-4 seed is a lock with 3 being the most likely.

They have been on an absolute tear lately. I have no problem with them getting a 1 or 2.

They weren’t even in the top 16 on the 15th, but no one has been better since.

Just need to win that first SEC Tournament game.

If we get to the finals, possibly could move up to the 2!!!
Agree with this.

Win the first SECT game, UK is almost certainly going to be a 3 seed in the NCAAT. We need that, because nobody wants the 1 seeds in the S16 (assuming chalk). We don't need UK playing Auburn or Alabama yet again, or Florida or Duke in a revenge game, as the 1 seed in their region.

Agreed.

I think we still get a 3 if we lose the first game, but I would like to get that win and remove all doubt.

Think about this, every game we could plausibly play in the tourney (highly unlikely we see LSU or SCAR) is going to be a Q1 game.

OU or UGA will be a Q1 game.

Bama will be a Q1A.

UF will be a Q1A.

Win the SECT and we are 14-9 in Q1 games. 15-10 in Q1 and Q2.

That’s 2 seed numbers.

In progress they are talking about Kentucky being a possible 2 seed

They gave Kentucky the 2 seed but they let the record show no team in the last 20 years had a 2 seed with 10+ losses.

We won't be getting a 2 seed with our 11th loss is my guess

Agreed.

We are a 3 seed most likely.

Another Q1 win (UGA/OU) will pretty much guarantee it.

A Q1 loss (UGA/OU) shouldn’t knock us off the 3 line, but I would feel better with one more Q1 win.

But a 2 seed would be hard to achieve. It is going to be nearly impossible to move passed those teams above us this late in the game.

There won’t be much movement either way, this late in the season.

Duke's better now than they were in November.

Do you feel the same about UK, banged up and without Jax and Kerr?

I hate Duke. But I don't think UK wants to be paired w/ them.
Every year big upsets occur in the tourney and this year will be no different. Every passing game puts Duke that much closer to a defeat. You stated that Duke is better now than they were when the season started. How do you know when for the most part their real challenges this year came from out of conference? The ACC is a joke this season. We are far more tested than Duke or anyone else outside the SEC. Need I remind you that this team tied the NCAA record for the most top 15 wins in a season? Yes, we are missing Robinson without a doubt, but we also have a more experienced bench than we had when the season started, and our injuries didn't stop us from winning top 15 or better games this season on the road.

We have already beaten 2 of those projected 1 seeds and l am certain that they don't want to play us any more than we want to play them. Kentucky's last two games look like Kentucky is where they need to be going into the tourney.
