All of us, including myself need to realize this isn’t an elite eight team. When Pope came we were all okay with a sweet sixteen his first year. Not sure we will make that, but after our start I allowed myself to think we could win it all.
Alarming things have followed. This team is inconsistent and soft. Yes, the officiating was atrocious tonight but the rebounding and defense was worse. Williams and Garrison couldn’t block out me.
Another alarming thing is that apparently either Pope isn’t hitting it home hard enough in practice or these boys aren’t listening. Not to mention Jaxson Robinson is a no show every other game.
There are GLARING problems on this team. I expect them to get a 6-7 seed in the tourney. We have some good wins and will get more but there will be several more losses. They don’t have it.
It’s time I accept that.
