WCS response to Larry Bird.....

I hope he gets it. The NBA has the money and they have no qualms about giving it away.

WCS has all the potential in the world. He gets disinterested in the game too easily.
If the kid had a Chuck Hayes motor, or MKG, then he'd be unstoppable.

True, but you can say that about all elite skills. If Willie shot it like Jodie Meeks he'd be one hell of a player too.

WCS is a 100mil level athlete.

WCS currently lacks a NBA skill set

WCS currently lacks mental endurance as he starts seasons strong and quits caring half way through. Now the NBA season is twice as long.

WCS doesn't have the MKG motor to be a Dennis Rodman and counter not having an elite skill set

He will either need to develop his skill set to compensate for his lack o a high motor consistently. Or he will need to find a passion and fire for the game that hasn't currently been there consistently in order to maximize and capitalize on his freak athletic ability and compensate for not being dominant from a skill standpoint and not being a shaq that can bully guys.

I wish him the best and he has tons of upside. But he could also be a major bust and let down.

There is no way that WCS will live up to that expectation. He clearly demonstrated his lack of real passion for the game during the tourney. Without true passion for the game, his incredible skill set won't be enough. The NBA is a grind because of the number of games in a season and I don't see NBA coaches willing to let him take games off like he did numerous time at UK. l like the kid a lot as a person but as a GM, I would never invest that kind of money in him. He reminds me too much of JaVale McGee.

JaVale McGee made an average of $11 million dollars per year over the last four years to basically not play. If Willie is a bust, he won't be the first or last mega talented 7 footer that teams throw money at.

Willie has been taught the post moves... I see them every pre-game, but like Kobe said "Good players can make the moves in practice, the great players can make them in the games!"

pretty amazing how so many will trash Wiltjer for supposedly not working hard enough while at the same time praising WCS, who in 3 years never developed the semblance of even 1 post move, much less an offensive game.
