Way too early too 25

I did a double take on that one too. They do return 18 starters. I guess that’s the reasoning.
I generally believe in recruiting rankings, and NC State just hasn’t been averaging high enough to reasonably hope for a Top 10 finish.

But they play in the ACC . . . .

Wonder if this came out before CROD, Square, the Ohio St 4 star transfer and Others committed to coming back?
According to the article it mentions C Rod returning and also has Henry-Young in the New Addition portion so sounds like he is up to date on who is returning. I guess he just doesn't think that highly of us and that is typical. Turning the culture around within the media that we aren't the old UK football has proven to be the biggest obstacle for Stoops and staff.

To his credit, there are still a few unknowns. If Rosenthal returns, that’s an immediate boost to our O-Line. One that could bump us ahead of Arkansas. A couple more names on the defensive side we are waiting on will help too. He basically had us 5th best in the SEC and 2nd in the East, can’t ask for much better than that at this point. Let’s see how the off-season shakes out, and maybe we are top 20 when the real preseason polls come out.

He has us with 7 returning starters on offense. If you remove Wandale, Darian and Ali who we know are gone then he apparently assumes only 1 of seniors Fortner and Dotson or junior Rosenthal departs. With that said I am not sure if Fortner and Dotson can be super seniors or not.

I am pretty sure Fortner is out of eligibility.

It shows #21 to me this morning. 3 of the top 4 are SEC...ridiculous.

At this point with UK we are reaching new heights, but how do we close the gap with a UGA or Bama? We just have to keep recruiting better and have to start beating TN & FL in the SAME season.

Maybe I mis-typed that last night

Why is it in any way reasonable to ask our historically losing program, with next to zero home base top recruits, to be national title level before those traditional national power programs i listed?

Let's worry about beating Florida week 2 & starting 2022 4-0, ok?

I don't know but they sure love to overhype USCjr.
They must buy a crapton of preseason magazines. Only reason they are so consistently overhyped Jan-Aug without factual basis whatsoever

Spencer Rattler was a disaster in 2021. But he will be better at USCJR, with worst O line & skill position, MUCH worst OC coaching, playing the best defenses on the planet? That math don't add up.

Based only on the Netflix show Rattler seems to be a horrible teammate.

That is fair. I do not think beating UT & FL in the same season once in my lifetime is asking too much.

I am pretty realistic, do not really see us winning a national title or even SEC title in my lifetime.

I think the question is fair. He wasn't downing the coaches or over expecting. Just asked a simple question, how do you ever compete with those two? The answer now as you said we can't. But is there any way to get there. Not asking this season, but the future. Even 5 years down the road. A&M has found a way to get the #1 recruiting class, but even that may not help as long as Bama and UGA are a close 2nd and 3rd

Another one. Pretty safe to say we will be consensus top 20 2022 preseason. Doesn't mean much, but good to have that label talking now to 2023 & 2024 recruits. Sell that we are winners and are gonna stay winners.

I saw one poll from Dennis Dodd at CBS. He ranks 7 SEC teams including USCjr, but not Kentucky. I don't get it.
Dodd's ranking are just straight up stupid. Not including UK, fine, no bigbdeal. But putting LSU, Tennessee, USCjr in it instead? Idiotic.

Thankfully most media doing these are more thoughtful and intelligent

Those rankings make those at FL & at Ole Miss road trips early on less daunting on paper. They still both have talent though and a lot of it.
A big question left to be answered is who Kiffin gets from the portal to be his 2022 QB. That'll determine how tough our trip to The Grove will be.

Or maybe he doesn't? Some whispers online he is pushing himself to NFL openings?

That's just Dodds and CBS Sports. They don't get much attention anymore, so they have to fake/pander their way through it

You have to place a $1,000 bet on who wins the championship next year- you can either take Alabama or the field.

Who ya got?

Pretty sure he already has his QBs

Man I’m not sure. Returning Heisman QB and a pissed off Saban. They may go scorched earth.
I might take the field too.

Bama will certainly be in the mix with the level of talent they stockpile. But even with the Heisman winning QB they put themselves in a number of situations that nearly cost them the playoffs this year. They lost the A&M game (who should be formidable again next year), and was in a precarious position against LSU, and should have lost to Auburn. Bama got some fortuitous bounces in those games otherwise they would have been playing Baylor in the Sugar Bowl.
