If we add Bamba and another(Big ifs) that'll make 9 players signed for next year. Bamba and Diallo leave. That opens up 2 scholarship, but who else would leave? Could we possibly be getting into a scholarship bind? The 18 class is loaded and we are in the mix for a lot of the top 10 in that class. Again way to early too early I know.

We'll lose a lot more than just Bamba and Diallo. All these people who are assuming guys like Vanderbilt, Washington, Richards etc won't leave aren't factoring in that next year's draft will be extremely weak. Tons of guys who wouldn't go in a "normal" year will end up leaving and taking advantage of the weak draft.

I think green and Richards stay, I think JV and PJ jump

Honestly, if that's all that can leave, we probably don't have the season we'd like. I think at least one or two more guys improve and play plenty well enough to be OAD. Vanderbilt almost certainly.

Vando is already top ten on one mock draft for '18.

Gabriel wanted to leave this year. Hump almost left. I can't see both Jones and Hump back after next season and possibly Tai so I feel like it will work out we will lose at least 4 maybe 5 and bring back quite a bit of experience and perhaps one of Cal's smallest but most talented classes for 19

With the Baker kid signing, there is only one scholarship left for this year. If Bamba and Johnson come, and maybe Knox, like everyone is hoping, some player(s) need to leave this year. And it will likely be crowed next year.

Vanderbilt, Richards, Green, and Washington are all potential OAD guys.

I see no way that Richards is a OAD. The board is underrating him yes, but probably not that much.

I also see Green playing two years. Kid is going blow minds here

Way I see it, if the cats have to worry about open scholarships then they wont be needing to fill but a few spots. Just go after the ultra talented. Every player on the roster will be of high quality regardless. The less spots open the better IMO.

Would much rather retain than reload the whole roster. I dont see it happening that way tho. Think we lose Vanderbilt, Bamba, PJ, and Diallo. Thats a few open rides right there.

We probably lose Vanderbilt, Washington, Diallo, Bamba (hopefully) and maybe Gabriel. But it's all a moot point at this point. I just don't see Richards being ready.
Well I agree. I posted something similar. Guess I shouldv'e read the whole thread.

With Cal going heavily towards signing Zion Williamson, I think you'll see forwards find their way out. I think 1 or 2 big names next season in the class along with a bunch of returning guys would be a good mix like Cal wants.

No!

Green is probably too small to be a OAD, your smaller more distributor than scorer PGs don't often go after 1 year. I can't think of any in recent memory.
Washington is also a bit undersized for his position, PF, an probably needs to improve his perimeter game & quickness to be a SF. So he too is very unlikely a OAD, unless he breaks out like the Mich St player did this year (unlikely, as we will have more balance).
Richards, could be OAD, but only if Bamba doesn't come. I would think Richards would need to see the court at least 18-20 mpg to consider leaving after 1 year.
Vanderbilt or Gabriel (but not both) are the most likely candidates. If one of them shines above the other, then I think he would leave.

The 2018-19 roster is likely to look something like this: Richards, Wynyard, SKJ, Gabriel or Vanderbilt, Washington, SGA, Baker, Green, + FR. That is 8 returning players, & thus 5 FR openings. Ideally I'd like a couple top players (like Williamson), 1-2 other top 20-30 players, and one or two 40-100 players.
