I was re-watching the UK-ND Elite Eight game, and I decided to focus on how Zach Auguste really shredded Kentucky's huge frontcourt to keep the Irish in the game.

Basically, he was following their guards into the paint, taking advantage of Kentucky's aggressive efforts to block shots and attacking the rim. ND was also setting picks for him to give him a lane to the basket as the guards were attacking. Most of his 20-plus points were right at the rim, after a defensive shift by the Cats brought on by penetration.

So, who else is perfectly designed to attack the basket the same way? Also 6'10.'' A few pounds lighter than Auguste was (at least last year) but with great explosion off the floor? They even have a similar hair cut...

I'm not making a direct comparison between Marcus Lee as a junior and Auguste last year.

But with Ulis, Briscoe and Murray able to get into the gut of defenses, I hope Cal works on having Lee and Alex Poythress attacking the basket with proper timing in the seams created.

Really, any of our bigs could do what Auguste could do last year. Next year's team could run its offense like Notre Dame did, and probably just as effective, if not more effective, while putting more size on the floor than that Notre Dame team did.

I really hope Cal watches some tape this off-season of Notre Dame and Duke. Especially Notre Dame, I definitely think we could run an offense this season reminiscent of that.

Lee is one of those active body types that always seems to get his hands on the ball. He's going to be a fan favorite and I hope Cal starts trusting him enough for him to putting up some numbers.

Cal is too stubborn to change the offense. hopefully this year our guards will be quicker than most teams we face and we can score a little easier.

Kentucky scored fine last year. They averaged around 75 points with nearly every team they played playing stall ball against them.

Maybe it was just me but there was something about that kid that annoyed the hell out of me. The tongue, the face, the cockiness.....

What are you talking about? Our offense has changed literally every season to fit our personnel. You will not find a more versatile coach in the country. Post better.
