Was wynyard about to check in at end?

Giving up his redshirt to play 30 seconds, LOL. That was bizarre. Seriously, though, I guess he and Cal have already talked and he is not red shirting. He looks HUGE.

Absolutely zero reason for Wynyard to redshirt because he won't be in Lexington in 4.5 years, no matter how well or poorly he plays.

They'll need him at some point this season anyway so might as well try to give him some action sooner rather than later.

Agreed.

You're the one that brought it up like it was loss if he blew it. What else were you laughing about?

Dude, do you not understand what it means when a person says a sentence, and then starts the next one with "Seriously though". It means they were joking in the first sentence. But I forgot...you can't joke around here. Noted.. again.

I like being called dude, must not have enough friends. Can you call me that again... please? :)

Learn smiles too, they so much without speaking.

Why bother with a redshirt, he's not likely to be a 4 year player anyway. He will get more minutes as he gets in better shape. I just wish Cal would go to the end of the bench in a game like that a couple minutes sooner. Put them in at the 3 minute mark and let them do something other than walk the ball up the court and hold it till the clock runs out. They didn't even get that opportunity tonight.

Are you serious Clark?

In just this game alone without beginning to look for a decent example Kentucky went on a 8-0 run in less than a minute. You put a team full of walk-on's vs Moody and companies scoring and they could more than make it a serious contest in 3 minutes. I'm dead serious and that's why he doesn't put them in with 3+ minutes. You take for granted what Kentucky's defense accomplished by assuming that just anyone could do it.

I always remember that 78 title game in which Hall pulled his starters and Duke made a run. He had to put the starters back in.

This. I don't understand the redshirt questions at all. It seems like the questions usually come from posters who don't like Cal. Maybe, they are trying just trying to find anything that can back the arguments to not tsupport him. IDK

Does anyone have any info on how Wynyard is looking in practice? I know he hasn't been here very long but I was just interested in what his progress has been so far, his strengths, weaknesses, etc.

I thought your initial post was going negative when I first read it too. After reading your follow up posts it was pretty obvious you were joking just as you said. But UK fans get fired up pretty easily when posts 'appear' to crack on Cal and the players. Not trying to tell you how to post in any way but I figured you'd get called out because that's the norm on this board. GBB.

3 minutes? Good grief, you could blow a 30 point lead in that amount of time. It's a treat to get in the game, not a birth right.
I'll take my chances that our subs don't give it 30 points to anyone in three minutes.
What concerns me more is risking an injury to a starter when the game is well in hand.

We need our best players getting as many reps as possible, 30 points up or not. Letting Floreal and whomever play may touch everyones hearts but it isnt helping the team.

Not involved in this one but even when I used a smikey face you went on offense when there was no need but you do what you want to do.

I've read enough of your posts. The majority of them are just chit chat nonsense. IGNORED>

I could care less about the benchwarmers getting in with 3-4 to go. UK would have won by 10-15 points if Cal had done that and people would bitch about "UK letting up at the end" LOL

I doubt that they are going to learn much in the last 3 minutes of a 20+ point blowout unless it might be how much a needless injury really hurts. It is called garbage time for a reason, pad your stats and go for a ESPN top 10 play. Yes, I know it is Cal's way and is not going to change but that doesn't make it 100% right.

Here is an example of a needless injury:

The Tar Heels' next game, on November 18, was against another equally storied team, Kentucky. The Heels scored a surprisingly easy 77–58 win over the Wildcats, but suffered another injury blow, this time involving Zeller. With 1:26 left in the game, Zeller went for a breakaway dunk off a turnover, but was fouled by Kentucky's Ramon Harris before he could score. Zeller fell to the floor awkwardly, got up, and was taken to the locker room holding his left wrist.[4]

X-rays showed that Zeller had broken both of the major bones in his lower left arm (the radius and ulna). The day after the injury, he had surgery at UNC Hospitals to repair the broken bones.[5] In early January 2009, Zeller's cast was removed.

Clearly Cal believes in reps, basically has said something similar in the past.

Last I heard his only weakness is his strength. He's too strong. Keeps popping balls when he catches a pass.
