Was Mitch right in only allowing the prestigious club seat holders to have alcohol? It only took 3 games for a fight to break out in the common folk beer line?😂 There has never been a fight in the club to my knowledge.

I molly whopped some drunk in there several years ago that sat on my crippled old man's lap and was running his mouth to a man in a wheel chair. Cops saw the whole thing and said they didn't blame me and took the drunk to jail.
Any chance the drunk’s name was Otis?

No barney has never been right on this. So many people take alcohol into commonwealth it isn’t funny. To think a fight now has something to do with beer is insanity. who amongst us doesn’t take a flask into the game after getting plastered while tailgating. My gosh what an awful take. A fight happened. lol.

I saw a drunk get punched 1st quarter of the first UK/UL game and was about knocked out. Damn if we didn’t see that knucklehead an hour after the game at two keys, running his mouth again

There are a lot of common sense reasons to withhold alcohol at public athletics events. All of us have seen that drunk people start trouble and behave in a way that ruins the day for everyone else. Drunk people create scenes that are not pleasant or healthy for children in attendance to witness. We all know this. If you cannot acknowledge this, then you care about drinking too much to admit the problems it causes. Drunk people get arrested (kentucky.com/news/local/crime/article279483644.html). Drunk people operate motor vehicles and kill innocents (wkyt.com/content/not-guilty-plea-entered-for-suspended-uk-student-on-dui-charge-following-deadly-collision-493735761.html).

If you say a club seat holder could also run over someone, that is true but there aren't very many of them. IMO it would be better if no one drinks at public athletics events. You don't need to be intoxicated to enjoy a sporting event. I drink alcohol at home. When I drink alcohol away from home, l use a designated driver because I do not want to kill myself or anyone else. But a lot of people won't do that.

The best part of this post is some of you actually think I’m being serious asking such a ridiculous question! I know math, there are probably 4,000 people in the club and 57,000 in the regular seating. Odds are there is a higher chance of an altercation in the regular seats. I bet Mitch feels validated though.

But the worst part is that innocent people are subject to a public safety risk on the roads, and sober fans with their families with tickets are subject to obnoxious behavior in the stands around them, but you may think this is about class envy, math, Mitch.

You mean you’ve never seen a video of one

Most aren’t reported or recorded.

That was nothing and the only reason it’s being discussed is because of this board.

At Jerry Claiborne’s last game Vs ut I was walking down the steps in the end zone of Commonwealth. We had lost 31-10. They had a great team.

Had a bit of the brown water and a big mouthy drunk ut fan was standing at the bottom of the steps actually foul mouth cursing Coach Jerry to all the departing UK fans. Jerry was a hell of a good man and coach. Well respected. Kind man with great morals.

Dude jumped in my face screaming and punched me in the chest. I had a bit of momentum coming down the steps and put one on his nose. He went over the wall down into the back of the end zone. I glanced down and it was a pretty good way to the ground. Felt bad about it for a couple seconds and then my wife unloaded on me. Could have broke his neck etc. Stupid. Just a game. What were you thinking. Claiborne doesn’t even know you.

No doubt alcohol played a large part in both his and my actions. It was stupid and childish but kinda sati .. never mind.

However it kept me from getting to that point ever again. People need to know when to stop.

Three fights out of 56,000 fans, pretty good statistics. Do I think people that have enough money to have a skybox would be less likely to fight well, I agree.
Hopefully, you’re not saying let them eat cake

Only thing that bothers me is the accompanying language. I’m no saint but avoid cursing around women and children…. Particularly mine.
That will get your azz beat in a heartbeat without an apology.

Having to call grown men female dog's at softball games isn't a good look but it's the principle.

I however can't wait to see a former teammates dad because he's writing an apology for telling my daughter she sucks because she's a just as good of a pitcher as his daughter (they're both better at certain aspects than the other). They left our team for a terrible one even though she got more starts.

Then stay home dude. I don't even drink and it doesn't bother me. And, if you think not selling alcohol prevents alcohol, you've not been at the games anyway.

I can't recall ever seeing a fight at Commonwealth/Kroger field. Arguments on occasion..never any punches thrown. Saw 3 fights in the 1st quarter of a Raiders/Dolphin game bout 10 years ago. Never have understood the concept of fighting over sports...makes 0 sense.
Only fight I've seen in all my years going there was after the game in the parking lot. Never seen anything in stands or concourses.

I have seen one fight in all my years at Kroger Field. It was in the stands between a UK and Tennessee fan. I have been to Cardinal Stadium for numerous Governors Cups. I’ve only been one time that I Have Not seen a fight. That time we were in the Brown&Williamson Club seats. Class does matter. It just does. If you don’t think people with money behave better than people on welfare go to Thunder over Louisville. Guys without shirts weighing 250 would just stop n piss on the sidewalk while swaying back n forth. People who live in and out of jail do not behave as well as CEOs. It’s just fact.

Dafuq? What a weird reaction. It was a direct quote from a UK spokesperson. You may be on to something, though. The fight and subsequent commentary was probably all part of a CIA psy-op.

Dammit man, you beat me to it!!

Some of these guys live in a tin foil hat world where every public statement, every article in a newspaper, and every story on TV, is part of a vast world conspiracy to deceive and seize power.
