Anthony Davis is third in NBA All Star votes behind LeBron and Curry. Wall is the leading vote getter of all Eastern Conference backcourt players. DeMarcus Cousins is 7th in West Frontcourt voting which means he's in jeopardy of not making it again, which is ridiculous because he's the best center in the entire NBA.

Please take the time to clink the link and see the voting from the first voting returns and also read where it shows you how to vote. Voting closes January 19 and if BBN put the effort into it we could have all 3 of our guys starting in the game. I'm going to bump this thread and keep it updated everyday so everybody sees it and hopefully votes for our guys!

Here's The Votes From The First Ballot Return. Please Vote!

Here are the first returns to the NBA AllStar game:

In the second post in the thread I posted the different ways to vote. You can vote every way listed every single day. Honestly I'm shocked that fans have Wall as the top vote leader as East backcourt players. I expected Kyrie to be the leading vote getter at PG in the East with Rose second. I say that because the media has dangled all over Irving since his rookie year and the fans took to him as well with all the exposure. But the fans have the East backcourt voting right so far. Wall is the best PG in the East and it's not really even debatable IMO. He might be the best PG in the entire NBA.

It is sad to see Brandon Knight isn't getting any fan support though. He's actually been better than Rose this year but Rose will make it off name alone. Knight should be in the top 10 in the East backcourt voting IMO.

Even cooler than Wall leading the East in backcourt voting is Anthony Davis leading the West in frontcourt voting. Davis is 3rd in voting overall and is just slightly behind LeBron and Curry for the most votes overall. As it stands there are 2 UK alum in the All Star Game starting lineups, Wall & Davis. BBN needs to actually use it's power for something that actually means something and keep Wall and Davis at the top of the voting list and in the starting lineups.

But most of all, BBN has got to make a HUGE push for DeMarcus Cousins. He's a true wildcat that bleeds blue and comes back and talks about how great UK is whenever he can. He's currently 7th in West frontcourt voting. I'm assuming he's listed as a center on voting, Marc Gasol is the current starting center in the West. Gasol is great without a doubt, better than Pau even, but Cousins is better than Marc Gasol. Cousins is the best center in the NBA. Cousins put up some numbers last year that had only been done by 4 or 5 guys in NBA history and he's putting up even better numbers this year. Other than Davis, I think he's the best frontcourt player in the entire NBA.

With Cousins currently in 7th in the West frontcourt voting he's right on the line for possibly not making it. He's not getting the votes he deserves strictly because he plays on a west coast team that nobody pays attention to and most fans outside of Kentucky and Sacramento don't like him and it's not justified. DeMarcus is the most misunderstood player in the NBA. Critics want to bad mouth him all the time and while he did have a small temper, he's not the bad guy people make him out to be. He's a great person and model citizen off the court. On the court the other team baits him on a near nightly basis and sometimes it gets to him but this year and this past summer it's been obvious that he's matured as a player.

DMC is an emotional guy who is a huge competitor and the losing ways of the Kings plus opposing players took its toll on him his first few years. Cousins should be a legit contender for MVP this year so making an Allstar game should be a lock if people were objectionable. Like Jason said, it was a load of crap that he didn't make it last year, but it would be the biggest and worst snub in pro sports history if he doesn't make it this year. He should be the starting center in the West as it is, but it's unquestionable that he should atleast be an AllStar reserve.

So I beg of y'all, the BBN, to PLEASE make sure Wall/Davis/Cousins are in the AllStar game and hopefully starting. I'm going to be voting everyday from now until January 19th on every platform available to vote from and as many times as possible.

totally agree with this.

I just went Davis Cousins Kanter Rondo Bledsoe for the West

and Wall Knight Patterson Gilchrist Noel for the East.

Seriously BBN - you're always bragging about how you dominate online.

You finally want a chance to make an impact?

Want to improve THE LIST?

Want to make it easier for the next coach who has the gigantic task of filling in Cal's shoes? How about making it so half the All Star game is former Kentucky players during the entire childhood of our future recruits?

It's a no brainer. Go VOTE.

I noticed that the list is by default sorted by PIE number (Player Impact Estimate), which DeMarcus Cousins does not have likely due to being out so many games with injury. Actually looking at the following page his PIE is 20.4.

NBA PIE Numbers

Because of this, Cousins doesn't show up on the initial list of potential players to be selected. So be sure to change the criteria to something like PPG to see where he's at.

Re: Here's The Votes From The First Ballot Return. Please Vote!

I have Cousins, Davis, on the West with two UK guards.....

I have 2 UK guards on the East.....

Guards
Wall
Bledsoe
Knight
Rondo

Forwards
Davis

Center
Cousins

Re: Here's The Votes From The First Ballot Return. Please Vote!

Bump

Cousins with 36 points and 11 boards tonight. Davis with 29/11/6blks tonight.

Go vote your asses off!

Wall, Davis, and Cousins should be in it. I don't feel like any of our other guys really deserve it. The West is gonna have some snubs because of how bad the East is. They need to just make a list of deserving players from both conferences and just create the rosters based on that, because half of the East roster probably won't deserve to be there. At least not as much as some West players who won't make it.

We need to all be voting up Rondo and Knight as well.

I'm not voting for guys that are not all-star caliber thus far this season. I voted for Wall, Cousins and Davis because they are worthy and should be in the game, not because of where they went to school at.

Have you watched Bledsoe and Rondo and Knight play this year....two are leading their team in scoring and Rondo leads the NBA in assists and triple doubles.

Exactly. Not to mention, there aren't really many all star worthy performers in the East this year.

Bledsoe, Rondo and Knight absolutely deserve consideration. Knight has been as good as Derrick Rose this year yet Rose is 4th in the East backcourt and Knight isn't top 10. Knight is putting up 18/5/5. Rondo deserves it every year. Bledsoe is one of the best young point guards in the NBA.

Come on guys let's get Cousins, Davis, and Wall all in the game and starting like they should be. Do y'all realize how cool and how big of a UK plug the game would be if the starting West frontcourt is Davis and Cousins and Wall is the starting pg.

Spot on Jason. Even Barkley was making fun and complaining the other night when the current starters were revealed. He wouldn't say specific names but it was obvious he was talking about Wade, Durant and likely Kobe.

Being 7th doesn't mean a player is in jeopardy of making the team. The fan vote doesn't matter for the backups as the coaches pick those. Fan vote only matters for starters

If he doesn't make it this year, which he's having a better year even, then I would just boycoot the damn game the rest of my career and refuse to take it even if I'm voted it.

It's ridiculous how little respect that guy gets.
Totally agree....Marc Gasol as the West starting center? Give me a break even Stephen A Jackson isn't that stupid.

you're right, but Kevin Durant and to a lesser extent Dwyane Wade shouldn't even be options to pick from this year.
Wade is having a pretty good year and has played in 24 games so far and it's not like the east is full of two guards besides Jimmy Butler. Cousins has only played in 20 games this year but i think he should be one of the centers for the west, preferably the starter.

Marc Gasol is having a great year and Memphis has been near the league lead all season. Cousins is great, but voting Gasol the starter would be no knock to Cousins. I will be surprised if Gasol doesn't make the roster.

I would guess the West big guys will be Griffin, Gasol, Davis, Duncan, Aldridge, Cousins, and Dirk. If Durant gets voted in that would throw a money wrench in, though. Hopefully Cousins doesn't get shafted again, but they might use his time off for illness against him.

Durant is almost a lock. The fans are making sure he's a starter.

That's kinda what I meant by Cousins being borderline when he's 7th. The ones you just mentioned will be basic locks which will put DMC on the border once again and it's crap!

I like Gasol, being from TN the Grizzlies are my "favorite" NBA team although I'm just a casual Grizz fan unlike a crazy UK fan, but no way should be be starting at center over DeMarcus. Marc Gasol definitely should be in the game, he's turned into a stud and better than Pau IMO, but he's not on DMC's level.

Durant was only 5th in the frontcourt in early returns. Have they released more returns since then? I'm not sure where you're getting that the fans are making sure he's a starter.

Re: Here's The Votes From The First Ballot Return. Please Vote!

He's 5th in the frontcourt but the 4 in front of him are all PF or C. He's the highest voted SF. That's what I meant.

I'm surprised Calipari hasn't tweeted something for Cousins to get BBN involved.

The state could carry anyone to the all-star game if there was a deliberate strategy employed.

Just wanted to drop by and say that it's not ridiculous for Wade to be getting votes. He is having a great season. Sure, Butler might be slightlt better, but Wade's inclusion wouldn't be laughable like Kobe's or even Durant, who has missed the majority of the year. Wade is still one of the top SGs in the league (probably third behind Harden and Butler).

Oh, I'm not even a Wade fan (actually strongly dislike him). Just kinda baffled by people who assume he doesn't belong.

Wait, NBA all star voting is done by fan votes??
laugh.r191677.gif
Are you joking? They don't have coaches and NBA experts pick the best players that deserve it, but instead base it on online voting? That's ridiculous.

Damn guys come on. We are letting DMC down. He's in danger of falling into 8th in the west frontcourt now. Only 4,000 ahead of Howard.

Davis and Wall are still the top vote getters in the west frontcourt and east backcourt.

The second voting returns are out.

Guys we are letting DMC down. For all the bragging about how we can change polls and how big and awesome our fanbase is, the voting for our OWN GUYS TO MAKE THE ALLSTAR GAME is pretty pathetic. Cousins is about to drop another spot to #8 behind Dwight Howard now. We owe it to players to vote multiple ways each and everyday until January 16th. It's the least we can do for DMC after all he did for us. Same goes for Wall and Davis also but DMC needs the votes more.

So I beg y'all to please vote for COUSINS and other UK guys.

Yeah, the other poster definitely shows a lack of basketball knowledge and intelligence.

It is the National Basketball Association all star game, not some UK Alum game at Rupp.

And as for my earlier post, I stand by it. I'm voting for the UK guys I see as starters in this game. I watch way too much basketball to just vote for all UK guys because of them going to Kentucky. Wall, Davis and Cousins should start IMO. I have to stop it there.

What's the difference between voting for them or voting for Kobe? It's just as arbitrary, and just as illogical.

The NBA All Star voting process is a popularity contest. If a Kentucky fan wants to vote in his favorite players, it ultimately will make no difference in the final tally anyway.

The All-Star vote is a joke. If you're looking for objectivity, you're never going to find it with the fan voting.
