I'm glad that the staff is planning on all 3 QBs getting snaps. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen.

I'm surprised Sheron isn't starting, mainly due to starting vs Carolina. I hope Vince let's all 3 run the offense and not some ridiculous half-baked Wildcat. I want to see what these guys can do in an offense we may run in 23 and beyond, not an offense for this one game only.

If Wade has surpassed Sheron in practice as was written, doesn't look good, long term, for him to be QB1 at UK. Interested to see Hogan and what he's got to show.

It’s simple. If Wade doesn’t start, he and his brother transfer out. They don’t want to lose his brother
Was this also a risk for South Carolina?

I strongly suspect he will run an offense that looks a lot like our regular offense.

Still, it would be funny as Hell if they ran an option offense and it worked, and we crushed Iowa by double the predicted margin, 13.4 to 12.6!

Sounds logical. but they also probably want to see how he handles the job. Hopefully we have two good players like our coaches thought instead of one very good very good player and a freeloader. I hope he at least shows promise like they thought he had, but I really hope he looks like a starter some day having someone that is athletic at QB is a plus.

Give me one reason why you would not start Wade in his hometown that is one of your most productive recruiting areas.?

This game is important mostly for RECRUITING.....and keeping players out of the portal that you need on the roster but haven't had the opportunity to play yet.

Smart decision.

Vince isn't OC in 23, none of the 3 qbs will be starting in 23. Let's win to finish 8-5 & a 2 game win streak however it has to happen. Let Wade do read option QB run 20 times, find a way to win.

Stupid. if he wants to start, then he woulda hit the portal after Leary tfered in.

Stupid. Coaches don’t guarantee spots. They tell Wade “we are gonna start you in the bowl game and then we want you to compete for the starting job in the fall”

But, Wade may very well be QB2 in '23 so I don't think it's long term smart to have him run RPO all game long vs the offense we'll run next year.

I want to win but think it's a lot more important to get guys we may be counting on next year significant snaps. Just my opinion

All you EKY sheron nut huggers…the kid ain’t no good…and when he pulled that surrender cobra BS when the WR dropped the ball.,,he shoulda been benched…

Iowa is one of the best defenses in.the nation boys, better than anyone we faced this yr save #1 Georgia. Why y'all want Wade in his 1st CFB game ever to try and sit back in the pocket, go through progressions, & read coverages is beyond me.

Wade likely starts because they want to use his athletic mobility to give us a chance of some 1st downs & points, period. Sheron's better passing ability & knowledge of the offense is useless, IMO. Wade can start learning to be a pocket QB from Coen in meetings in mid January.

Win, by whatever means necessary.

Article on both On3 and Sea of Blue so not sure why you think it's fake news.
If anyone believes that, they demanded one brother playing in a bowl game (his only playing time all season) in a probable committee approach when they just signed a QB to start next year or they would transfer then I have a bridge I will sell them. Whether they stay or not has already been decided and if I remember correctly, these same people were talking about will they stay almost as soon as they committed. At any rate, they may leave but this bowl game won’t factor in the decision

Love this move. Kid is big, good arm, and great wheels. Put up stats at high level in Nashville. Why wouldn't you think he could pass Sheron by sheet ability?

I'm a big Sheron fan, but Wade has the potential to be the starter in two years. You have to let him see the field. Kaiya is an SEC backup which is absolutely respectable.

Wade has the potential to be really really good. Could also stink, but we won't know until he tries.

I agree with some of your points. Iowa does have a strong defense. We're playing our backups at QB and RB. If I'm their DC, I'm expecting 75+% runs from UK. Hence, with our OL, I don't think we can win running the ball all game long.

Whoever is the QB, he needs to be able to move the pocket, threaten the D with the possibility of QB run but also complete a few passes. UK will not expect any of the 3 to go through a bunch of progressions. But, we've got to complete a few passes or we'll punt 10+ times. Their offense is not going to be very good, either, so we dont have to sling it around to win. I just don’t see any way we can win without some semblance of a passing game unless the defense scores a couple of times or gives us a couple of red zone turnovers.

Iowa is excellent against the run and pass. I highly doubt that an all tun game will work against them. They are very gap disciplined.

Maybe they thought they owed it to him since they worked on a package with him for the entire week of the South Carolina game but he didn’t get in to use it because the staff (Stoops including) totally shit the bed and abandoned the game plan after we fell behind 7-0 on a stupid play call .

Coen is gonna reinstall to his liking and it’s gonna be a reset of sorts anyways. No one come at me with it’s the same system. Obviously Coen did a better job teaching it.

Just read that Marrow said Wade 'can make all the throws, is athletic and a winner.' If that is all true against SEC competition that just leaves decision making as a question mark.

I love Vince..but he says all kinds of stuff I would not necessarily hang my hat on it

I’m imagine Wade has a capable arm but he has never showed more than your run. Of the mill college QB. Wade is a big kid that can run a bit is how the game plan will need to be tailored

I see some RPO a bit and solid use of QB runs…which Coen used wjtb Levis

Last interview with stoops I heard said we were likely to see them all. I don't think anyone demanded he play. However I do think it's smart to give the kid game action and alot of it. It lets him play in front of his family. Plus it gives him the opportunity to show what he can do vs a stout defense, so you get a real look at his future potential at that position

I respect your concerns about Wade, but one minor detail is that Iowa has no film on Wade and what he can do, whereas they look to the SC game and get a feel for Sheron’s capabilities.

I look for both of these guys to play.

I don’t see any of these three quarterbacks staying past this game. They know who is starting in the fall and they know they have been recruited over.

That would be disastrous. Wade's high school coach said that Wade's brother is an extraordinary type of player because of his size, work ethic, smarts and athleticism. Have wondered if he might be moved to Wrights spot to get him on the field now.

For one year, and one year, only.

In the Fall of 2023, likely either Wade or Sheron will be told they are the solid No. 2. If the staff feels comfortable, they can assure that player there will not be a transfer for starting purposes, but maybe for a backup brought in for ‘24.

One of them might leave - actually after spring practice wouldn't be surprised at all. But too many unknowns about Sheron and Wade. A red shirt freshman that hasn;t played because he was behind a first round draft pick doesn;t tell me he couldn't be a draft pick in the future for sure. Sheron didn't look bad against South Carolina - the OC and the line coach looked bad against South Carolina. Hogan was a 4 star coming out of high school in Texas. So, with a new year and new OC things could look a LOT different at the QB position. I have a feeling, with no knowledge what soever, that we have our starting QB for 2024 on our roster right now.

Go Big Blue!

This will obviously not happen. It is alarmism.

This week, some people seem to think Keaton Wade will transfer because his brother has to spend a year backing up Devin Leary. But what if Destin Wade stays because he has a future at UK and because his brother is a blooming defensive star for UK? The Wade brothers will stay.

Sheron stays, or not, as a function of his desire to be a UK Wildcat. I think it's too early to conclude that Sheron cannot be successful in the SEC. Sheron has a pretty good arm, and seems to be intelligent. What I noticed in the SCar game was that Sheron's footspeed is not on the level of typical SEC QBs. That will probably hurt him. It is already hurting him in the competition to play in the MCB, since there is so much attention to Wade's running ability. For a QB, everything is about opportunity. Only one QB plays at a time. That will be a challenge for Sheron here.

Deuce is the kind of player you like to have on the roster in the unlikely case of multiple QB injuries. For a walkon, Deuce has length and upside. He won't embarrass you. But he is not the future. He has already transferred once. There is circumstantial evidence that he likes Coen, so I believe he stays.
