Maybe the guy is making reference to overall depth and experience level? Yes, we have improved depth over the past few seasons. But we still don't have the kind of depth and experience most SEC teams have, though we are getting there. Depth is very important when you get into the meat of the schedule. An example would be the 2007 UK team. That team on any given day had the talent to compete with anyone, as is evidenced by their wins over LSU, Louisville, Arkansas and other good teams that season. But they didn't have the depth to perform at that high level every single week. The season wore down our guys more than most other SEC teams. I think that UK team was better than several teams they lost to that year (South Carolina, Miss State and Tennessee), but having to play the big boys every weekend really wears you down physically and mentally. Had that 2007 team had 2nd and 3rd string depth on par in terms of talent to the 1st string, we may well have been the team that received the honor of clobbering Ohio State for the national championship instead of LSU.
