From what I've seen of Notre Dame this year .... they play 4 guards, spread you out, can shoot, and are a dangerous team. Mike Brey has been a good coach for them, he always seems to have his kids prepared, and he has had some really good gameplans laying in wait to spring the upset, at home or on the road. They're an equal opportunity killer at times, and this game is a big on for them.
I didn't think I was the only on who thought the Fightin' Irish would come away with the upset today. If they can pull it off, think about this : Notre Dame will be 16-1; 3-0 and atop the ACC, having knocked off UVA and a win @UNC*** to boot. Their only blemish is a one point loss to Providence at Uncasville, Conn. where LaDontae Henton scorched them for a 38 point career game. No shame in losing like that to a red hot player and a pretty decent Providence team by only one point, in what is essentially their backyard.
Seeing as how Maryland and Texas both lost, Notre Dame should (in my book) jump Kansas (in the AP poll) and make the top 10 - for sure - if the win this game. I don't know if they win the game against VA. if UVA will fall so far that even with them both at one loss apiece, and Notre Dame having beaten them, they would be ranked ahead of the Cavs, but that sure would be debatable seeing as though they would have beaten them head to head. UVA would have to drop a quite a bit for that to happen, but ya' never know.
Will be an interesting game for sure.
