Virginia @ Notre Dame 6pm today

I expect VA to go down. I hope Digger isn't picking ND. LOL

From what I've seen of Notre Dame this year .... they play 4 guards, spread you out, can shoot, and are a dangerous team. Mike Brey has been a good coach for them, he always seems to have his kids prepared, and he has had some really good gameplans laying in wait to spring the upset, at home or on the road. They're an equal opportunity killer at times, and this game is a big on for them.

I didn't think I was the only on who thought the Fightin' Irish would come away with the upset today. If they can pull it off, think about this : Notre Dame will be 16-1; 3-0 and atop the ACC, having knocked off UVA and a win @UNC*** to boot. Their only blemish is a one point loss to Providence at Uncasville, Conn. where LaDontae Henton scorched them for a 38 point career game. No shame in losing like that to a red hot player and a pretty decent Providence team by only one point, in what is essentially their backyard.

Seeing as how Maryland and Texas both lost, Notre Dame should (in my book) jump Kansas (in the AP poll) and make the top 10 - for sure - if the win this game. I don't know if they win the game against VA. if UVA will fall so far that even with them both at one loss apiece, and Notre Dame having beaten them, they would be ranked ahead of the Cavs, but that sure would be debatable seeing as though they would have beaten them head to head. UVA would have to drop a quite a bit for that to happen, but ya' never know.

Will be an interesting game for sure.

Notre Shame will no doubt be in our bracket if they play 4 guards and can spread you out.

I think a 3 point shooting team could beat 'em. I think a very athletic team that can shoot 3 pointers well will beat them. Barring Anderson, I don't think they're a very athletic group, so that's why they use a packline defense. Very fundamental, team-oriented defense. If they get spread out along the 3-point line, if they do have a lack of athleticism, they could get burned by teams with superior athletes. Just seems like the kind of defense the dribble drive penetration would excel against.
Duke vs UVA game should be very good, and a game that Duke wins. As for ND, I'm pulling for them for once. Hopefully they beat the uh.. "hoos"?

My thoughts exactly. Believe me, that's what Notre Dame does, and they do it well. VERY well so far, in the three games I've seen them play. The loss to Providence was a good game, Henton was just absolutely ON FIRE and the quality of that game was well played on both sides, imo.

So far, I would say they would want something like this for UK's midwest region....

1 - UK
2 - Virginia/Louisville (would MUCH rather have lil brother)
3 - Utah
4 - Notre Dame
5 - West Virginia

(and, if they can somehow half-ass make a credible case for this ..... )
8 - Ohio State or Indiana
9 - Cinci or Uconn
or some kind of combination of teams like this for the 8/9 game opposite us in the Yum bucket.

I already cheered for Notre Dame once this season. I'm not sure if I can find the strength to do it again but I will try.

Have seen ND a couple of times, a nice team that will IMO beat UVA today. Grant is the real deal, and he has a couple of team mates who can play as well. The Irish have a long history of knocking off highly ranked teams, especially at home.
So, after today I believe there will be one less undefeated team, just hope it is the Cavaliers, and not the Cats !
