Video of Nutter Fieldhouse….playing surface named after Brooks

He earned every bit of this and then some. If it wasn't for what Brooks showed the world could be done here, we wouldn't have Coach Stoops and wouldn’t have been building the program like we have. ALL of this was promised to Brooks, and NONE of it delivered. His name should be on a heckuva lot more than just that field

Love it! So very well deserved! Our indoor practice field, Oregon stadium field all adorned by his name, giant building accomplishments at both programs. He didn't get the enjoyment of the benefits of his hard work at either place, so he should be honored and remembered as such a huge driving force for Ducks and Wildcats football.

Well said and totally agree. Loved Rich Brooks.

Awesome to see! Rich Brooks did some great things here despite not having much in the way of resources at his disposal. His 2007 team will always be one of my favorite UK teams. They were so much fun to watch and the players had so much grit. And how many times has a UK football team beaten the eventual national champion? If that team had more depth, they could have easily been in the championship picture. Their first string was as good as anybody. But they just didn't have the same depth of talent as the better SEC teams and it hurt them at times. That team should have beat South Carolina and Tennessee for sure, and probably would have, had they not been so banged up and worn down by the schedule.

My ears were ringing for two weeks after that UofL game in 2007. LSU game was wild too, but we were as dead as a doornail and then boom, Stevie happened.

My buddy was on the field shooting the game, and one of the guys he talked to down there told him it was coming and my buddy didn't listen. Wrong place to shoot the entire play. Not that he cared, but it WAS Incredible.

So many people people told me where they were in Lexington and heard the roar from the stadium all over town. In the stands it felt like the ground was shaking. Those seasons were awesome

UL blew coverage on that route earlier in the game and we missed Johnson. We wisely held it until we really needed it. Sure enough it was wide open again on the same mistake.

Such a good decision to not go back to that well too soon. Brooks was an amazing coach especially when it came to game decisions

I recall that someone in the booth saw the UL mistake and relayed it for later. Was that a Joker/Sanders OC year?

Well deserved for Coach Brooks, but I will say it...What is this nonsense of naming sports complexes at UK after family members? When a Building is named after a financial doner, it is fair game to name it after whoever the doner requests, but Karen Brooks and the Barnhart Family names do not belong on any UK athletic facilities unless they donated the money.

Frankly currently employed staff (Mitch) should be ineligible to have facilities in their name. Let them retire first.

I can definitely get behind putting the coaches' family on whatever. Their family sacrifice a ton. Especially considering it almost surely included many years of barely any pay in addition to the insane hours.

Imo it's nice, well deserved recognition for years of said sacrifice.

hes one of my favorite Twitter followers. Man is just living the dream at this point. Retired, wealthy, lives in a beautiful area, gets to spend all of his time with his wife and doing the things he loves. And its obviously the simple things.

Seeing stuff like this

reminds me of my Papaw.

That 07 season was so much fun. I think that's the year that I went to every home game, the Arkansas road game, and the bowl. 06 to 08 I was at SO many football games. I was actually a student at UL, 08 I was in grad school and it was easier to get student tickets so I bought like $9 a game UL season tickets just so me and my dad could go sit in one of the UL student sections while we pounded them 27-2. Sold the rest to a card fan friend.
