I watched that Hoophall game and came away very impressed with Bam and unfortunately also that one kid going to UCLA. Typically, I find that we over-hype our recruits and my favorite example were the posts before Randle ever played one game, "Is Randle the best power forward that has ever played at Kentucky?"

I don't think Bam is going to be as dominant as many here want to believe at the college level. In this game he looked like a man among boys and to a certain extent he was as the other team had one kid playing who they said was 14 years old! Nevertheless, what really was impressive about Bam was being multi-dimensional. He made several great baseline passes, he ran, he rebounded with "two" hands, he attacked the basket when given the chance, played decent defense, and showed really good foot work.

I also give lousy coach of the year, his coach. The number one team they were facing is known to run, fire 3's at will, and play at a fast pace. So, what does Bam's coach have his team do? The same thing. Nice; talk about playing to your opponents strength not yours. So, no slow down of tempo, no effort to get the ball to Bam but instead also jack up a bunch of 3's and give up long fast break pass after pass. I wanted a Rupp moment at half time, where he would have each of his player shake hands with Bam and say he wanted to introduce them to him. Get him the ball....Nope. Anyway, Bam is multi-dimensional and of course very physical and will be ready for the college game.

If that's the first time you've seen him then you'll be even more impressed when you see more of him. That was a tough matchup for his team.
