What a dumb ass move by Vandy to take a 3 instead of attacking the basket and getting a foul.
Vandy did everything they could to give that away. Use last timeout with over 7 mins, foul when they took the lead, take a 30 footer when they only needed a 2. Just terrible coaching by Drew.
That is the Vandy team we have all come to know. Taking down the SEC win percentage in tournament play. Every year.
And northwestern coach says 'we just made one more play' ... no lol you didn't exactly make that play
This is why SEC teams make the SEC the laughing stock of P5 conferences..
FL is safe to make a big run now as Vandy is out.

Had Vandy winning in all 4 of my brackets and they pull crap like this in the final minute. And, they're supposed to be academia of the SEC? But, then again, I guess I'm pretty dumb for picking them.
Has anyone heard if Davis, or Drew, made reference to that foul after the game? I suppose the only plausible explanation is that, for whatever reason, he though Vandy was behind. Still, no excuse to not know the score; that's why they have those big scoreboards after all.

Back to being a 3 bid league next year thanks to SEC teams tanking in the NIT and NCAA
I know most will give the benefit of the doubt but this situation is ripe for someone to be walking home with extra wads of cash in their pockets/gym bags.
I believe that's the one year even Vandy advanced. They lost in the 2nd round to Wisconsin.
This is why you never pick Vandy. They had a team with 3 NBA draft picks... 1 and done in the tourney.
Only Reason i picked Vandy was because the new coach. I figured maybe he wont choke like the bald guy from King of the Hill... Will never happen again...
I was really hoping Vanderbilt would pull this out I listened on the radio and the radio announcer said that Vanderbilts bench was screaming at Fisher-Davis to pick McIntosh up and he thought in the heat of the moment they were saying foul him.....plus Northwestern played a game that reminds me of how teams perform against UK, McIntosh was unconscious and that 55% free throw shooter hit 5 straight down the stretch sometimes you just have to shake the other teams hand and say well done. I wanted Vanderbilt to dump Gonzaga out of the tourney and Bryce certainly is a improvement over Kevin Stallings.
They just showed an interview on espn after the game. They asked the kid what he was thinking. He said, "i thought we were up 1"
