Vandy at Kentucky

I’ve seen a lot of bad basketball over the years and I don’t think you’re right on this one. This Vandy team can be very good but truthfully, we do have some holes. We need a 3rd consistent scorer, and we need another big, but we do some things very well also.

Edwards is an elite scorer, and we have several guys capable of scoring 15-20 as well. Defensively, we are very hit or miss.

Vandy has been a finesse team for the most part since the days of Clyde Lee(there is a blast from the past for you) but it may be that you guys are morphing into a more defensive/physical type of team. The new coach seems legit, it will take a year or so to get his type of players on board. Wish you guys had finished off UT the other day cause nothing sucks like a Big Orange.

As a Vandy fan who has watched all of our games and a reasonable amount of UK games (at least 10), I have no earthly idea how this game plays out. We are good enough to win by 20 and bad enough to lose by 30 and I think UK has a similar level of volatility.

I do really like both first year coaches, I think Byington and Pope are going to have a lot of battles over the years.

Should be a fun game tonight. If I had to make a prediction, I’d say Cats by 12 (85-73).

First off, I hate that we only get 3 home and homes with the expansion to 16 teams, that really makes some schedules tougher than others and just sort of sucks.

Second, I’m really glad that Vandy kept Kentucky and Tennessee as home and homes this year. Is this a permanent thing? I hope so.

Third, both teams at 17-8, UK with a much better resume than Vandy, not sure who needs this game more? Vandy dropped a tough one to UTjr Saturday where Ziegler had a career day and the refs fouled out all of our post players (that wasn’t fun to watch).

I would guess UK would be about -7.5 for this one.

Any thoughts on the game?

Haven’t been on the boards much the last couple days. Surprised to see so many predicting a loss to Vandy.

Short-handed, yeah. But we just outplayed Texas at Texas before blowing it down the stretch.

This was always a must-have and probable win to me. Pleasantly surprised by the margin though.

We might have one too many pessimists sort of begging for the wheels to fall off. Let’s manifest some positivity around here. Still a lot of season left and we remain in the thick of it.

Yeah the need to try and keep him. If I was Indiana I’d take a hard look at him but doubtful they will look to make such a good possible hire. Just like they won’t get Chris Beard because they think they are too good for him.

I feel great, our season hangs on the health of Butler. Get him back and we can do big things, get a Jaxson back and we are really cooking.
