Coming into Lexington next Saturday riding a 26 game SEC losing streak. Hasn't won a conference game since beating Missouri on October 19th, 2019.

They are that bad. Cats 31 Dores 6
Taking the fam to the game next weekend. It’ll be my little 8 year old guy’s first trip to Commonwealth. Kid is a CRAZY UK fan and he can’t wait to see it in person. Afraid he won’t quite get the full effect in a noon game against Vandy, but will be fun anyway!

Ha! When I was about that age my grandparents had season tix and we lived several hours away but would go to a game a year. Seemed like it was always Vandy. They were bad then too, but usually so were we. Believe the first game I saw Sonny Collins broke his leg.

We live in the Nashville area, so of course his first UK game ever was last year @ Vandy. Going to have to get this kid to a game against someone other than Vandy soon. Traveling that far we wanted to pick an almost sure fire win though, haha. We considered the Georgia game but didn’t want him to see UK get their teeth kicked in on his first trip to Commonwealth.

Wow. Had no idea it had been THAT bad for Vandy.
Clark Lea is getting it done at Vandy. He is a good football man who, potentially, might be able to recruit there. He believes in the place. But Vandy's football program is in such a big hole relative to the rest of the SEC that he will need several improved classes before it even begins to show up on the field.

This is the perfect time for UK to have a home game against the weakest program in our conference. Vandy will put up a fight and force the Wildcats to focus. But Levis should be able to get through this game without taking many more hits. Our offense can work on assignment soundness, and Vandy should have a tough time scoring points against our defense. Could UK be upset at home? Sure, there is a 5% chance, like any competitive team athletic event. But Stoops is preaching focus and team cohesion. This should be a productive week.

But here are the problems. GA is next, and Levis will get knocked around in that game like a pair of socks in an electric dryer. Our OL remains a problem, and I am not seeing improvement. Our punter is lost for the season, and his backup has punted one time in competition in the western hemisphere. To say the least, we can't depend on our FG kicker. Our special teams are the worst I have ever seen, and that's just being honest. For the love of god, please hire an experienced special teams coach.

A win would probably get us back in the top 25, especially if some of the teams ranked 20to25 lose

We have won 6 straight against them.
48-42-4 all-time now.
We will make it 7 in a row.
Write it down.

And the vast majority of those losses were VERY early on in the series.
Correct. A very clever U6 fan who is something of a regular here frequently cites the near .500 all time as a reason for UK to never assume a victory, and a reason to generally assume the game would be a toss up- conveniently forgetting the modern Era ratio is close to 2 to 1.

Have to take him to the Georgia game. The pre-game festivities and the rowdiness of the first few possessions is worth it. If Kentucky keeps it close and the crowd is into it for just a quarter even, that is worth an infinite amount of games vs. Vandy in CWS. Taking kids to see beat-downs of UK football builds character. I’m a stronger and better man because my dad took me to see some bad ones.

One year we played Georgia, we sat in the endzone. Every time UGA scored, UK fans would toss their kicking ball around and around and eventually they all got tossed outta CWS. This was in the mid-2000s IIRC.

Damn I was in school then, seems like yesterday.

Years ago my son's first football game was Vandy In Nashvile.
All he remembers was peeing in the trenches underneath the stadium.
I went to see Vandy play Oklahoma in 77 or 78. I remember seeing the Selman brothers and thought they were the biggest humans on earth.

Favored by -17.5. Would be nice to lay a beatdown on someone for once and look entertaining doing it.

Has to be the most dangerous time we've played them since we lost to them in back to back seasons. They will be so UP for this game and we're the walking wounded. I hope to God we're not peeking ahead to Georgia AT ALL.

We need to get our offense clicking this week and find ways to ge the ball out of Levis' hands quicker. If we don't find a way to get teams on their heels before this weekend, it's gonna be a bich of a 3 game stretch. Tight ends. Crossing routes and drag routes with Levis rolling out.

Deep comebacks (15 yds) and some timing routes over the top. Spread the damn field instead of bunching everyone in so the run game is easier to defend. Let's get crackin!!

AND GET A MF into practice to teach people how to let go of defenders on the edge and not block people in the back. I want to see BabyBrown get his stats instead of lose them to penalties! Let The Deuce Loose!!
