Updated; What the Dookies Are Saying Post-Game

Oh shit. Dude my bad bro. LOL. I didn't read your whole post. Very sorry I mistaken you for a Dook fan.

Silly Rabbit.

I was wondering why you kept harping on Duke. I get it but I didn't. Ya digz?

Edit: The Duke fan he posted in OP is for sure "special".

Spot on insight into tonight's game. Duke blew their chance to Suplant UK. So much for their number 1 recruiting class from last year.

I HATE the champions classic or also known as the CHANCE TO BEAT UK AND SLOW DOWN RECRUITING game. Playing Kansas, duke, and Michigan state allows those teams a shot at slowing/hurting our recruiting if they beat UK. Kentucky has ZERO to gain by playing these 3 teams in regular season. We get the best players regardless of this game so therefor why play it against these particular teams? Duke was helped by our loss to them couple years ago. Michigan State beat us on couple recruits the following years. Its a damn scheme to hurt UK.

DUKE wants to win this game tonight to push the agenda that DUKE has passed Kentucky in the recruiting one and done game. To push that Kentucky isnt the best place for one and done's anymore. We should get the hell out of this champions classic
I'd bet dollars to donuts that Cal was a, if not the, driving force in setting up the Champions Classic. I doubt he sees it as a disservice to UK. Exposure, experience playing in regional and FF venues, etc, etc.

Right on.

I believe he has said in the past that he likes to play in big games on neutral courts because that mimics the tournament atmosphere.

Plus, college basketball needs big time matchups like these. We love it in Kentucky, and the states of Kansas and North Carolina and Indiana do too, but nationwide, most people don't tune in unless there is a big-time game like the two last night. It's good for the sport.

2-16 so far for our best 2 scorers and down by 9 to the #2 ranked team. Could be worse. On the other hand, KY doesn't look all that impressive to me either. On the other hand, I think college basketball overall is down this year.

In other words, "Yeah we lost, but college basketball sucks!"

Funny you picked this one . . . it really popped out to me too! What an attempt to dilute their loss.

I've seen and heard it all now. A Dookie complaining about an opponent flopping.

The lesson? Don't push off if the defender is there. Don't give them a chance to flop.

You guys have some weird complex. Looking for and drooling over any message you can find on the internet that has some unknown Duke fan upset or saying even the littlest thing that you guys can twist into some big deal. It's the middle of November. You beat Duke in a VERY early season game. Both teams will be completely different in a couple months.

Both teams are going to be completely different and more talented next year, when they could very likely meet in April.

Your name says all we need to know.

You got beat six and a half months ago and you're here telling us we have a complex.

ND football and Duke basketball fan?

We're not going to apologize for enjoying a win, even a win "VERY early" in the season. Why are you here, anyway?

I tell you what. with the exception of just a few posters that is a high BB IQ forum. When compared to the IU/UL and even the KU boards they are down right nice and actually discuss BB issues. Many have quoted posts from their board here but the far majority of them are reasonable and realize what the issues are rather than just hurling baseless accusations at their opponents. Case and point - http://forums.dukebasketballreport....6840-MBB-Kentucky-74-Duke-63-Post-Game-Thread

It's good to have another competent fan base to discuss issues with from time to time.

True. But it's still fun to quote the dumber ones.

The vast majority of dUKe fans know next to nothing about basketball...they haven't played, they haven't been fans for their life, they don't have BBALL fever, they have simply climbed on a wagon, or like to do militaristic group cheers.

It is rare they can post intelligently about their team, it's record, it's strengths, or its strategy.

The OP I present as exhibit A.

A Duke fan that can really talk or post with intelligence recording BBALL is a very rare specimen. They are rumored to exist, but very very difficult to find.

Didn't want to start a thread about this, so this seems like the appropriate place. Anyway, I was just looking at THR to see what they were saying, and of course they are delusional as ever. We were "pitiful", should be ranked 15th at best. Skal underwhelmed. Ulis and Murray were really the only standouts, etc.

I kinda wished we did still play them now. Would love to put the smack down on their smug, cheating arses.

Big deal? Of course not. Fun? Absolutely. Also, you're right about us both being different later . . . better.

I looked at the box score after the game. It was quite surprising. One might have guessed UK lost the game. I'd like to see the shooting percentage's increase. Particularly from 3 and the FT line. Something that's kind of become predictable for Cal's UK teams I doubt we win any games from the FT line unless Ulis is there. Or from 3's.

Thing is it didn't matter. Ulis is averaging 4 assist per game, Murray 5 despite his scoring potential. It was great to see him hugging Utlis after the game. The more synergy we wee from those 2 and Brisco the better this team will be. It seems clear this is a team needs to take to ball to the hole. Not the cup I heard some SEC network moron refer to it as. That's all good, but the thing is if you draw fouls you need to be able to put in the FT's. Nit picking. You betcha. Like the commercial says, it's what we UK fans do.

Duke is going to be that much better in a few months? Yeah ok. Not sold. Plumlee is the worst of 3 brothers, he is who he is. Jefferson, solid but the same, although to a lesser extent. Duke's front court isn't going to get any better unless Ingram puts on weight, and fast. As for guards, the ceiling is higher, improvement will be there, but Kennard and Thornton are looking like the type of Freshman that may take a while to get going. Here's a wake up call: not every class is going to come out of the gate firing. Grayson was exposed, badly, in my opinion. This Duke team as a whole? Meh.

But we know one thing, There isn't a snowball's chance they are on the same side of the bracket as us come March. Kentucky would beat that ass by 15 in January and probably 25 in March.Humphries, Skal, Lee, and even Poythress (more so because of injury) actually have ceilings they haven't hit yet. They will not be put in our way until as late as possible.

Please please PLEASE let them be one of the 6 teams in our way..

Something tells me our bracket is going to be filled with big physical front courts who love to play methodical, slow, half-court basketball.

Probably, but how many teams have guards that can keep up with our three headed monster? Duke was bigger and it kept them close for 30 minutes and that's it.

Duke was bigger, but many if they have a top front court this year.. then college basketball is really down.

Honestly, Plumlee got a little lucky on those first 5 or 6 Offensive rebounds. I think our bigs weren't quite in it yet. He killed as the first 5-8 minutes. But that was that.

I don't think the NCAA trys to slight Kentucky when it coems to the brackets, instead, they just try to help Duke (Which in turn, hurts all the other top seeds anyways).

But if you were going to throw Kentucky off their game, don't even bother with guard play.. no school is going to touch us there. The best bet is to throw the most physical front courts at us and hope for the best. Obviously a team with great guards and bigs would be the ideal team, but who is that? I guess UNC? Maybe Maryland if Stone is the real deal?

Skal got a lesson last night. Cal got teaching material last night. That will make Skal better. [banana]

The Duke fan basically said they will catch up to UK in terms of NBA talent. Doesn't catching up imply the competition slows down? With Murray, Skal, Fox, Monk, Bam, Gabriel, SKJ, Lee, Poythress, Briscoe, Ulis, Mathews, and Humphries playing now or committed for next season, and all expected to make the league...

Good luck with that.

And who would you rather we play? IUPUI? When you are the top dog you play the best competition you can find. It's a chance to show recruits why they should be here. Do you think they are coming here to play some obscure team on the FX channel? I appreciate you passion, and I hope this was a temporary brain freeze, but this is one of the dumber things I've ever read on this board and there have been some doozies !

I'd take IUPUI,,, lol.. Cousin of mine plays for them.. That would be the only reason for me though..
