UPDATED >>>>> 3PT Shooting Percentages !!!!

Yeah when you consider the three freshmen there’s an argument that we could be as good at perimeter shooting as our team was last year—even if our guys were going to be used the same way. And all signs indicate they will actually be used SO much better—at least compared to how last year’s guys were used most of the year, starting when the bigs began to play and Cal pissed away Welch’s ideas.
The way I look at it, if can be a top five 3pt shooting team (percentage of points from three and/or total makes) then that should pretty well guarantee a top 25 offensive team. We have the defensive potential to be top 25 on the other end. Balance like that is a recipe for a contender and a tough out in the tournament, and should produce a strong regular season. I don’t expect a title next year, but I love that it’s even a possibility!

Just watched several clips of Robinson. First time have really focused in on his game. I did not know he was that good on offense. He is your go to guy. Tremendous movement off the ball to get open. Great shooting touch from anywhere including 35 feet. Looks super smart in using ball screens. Plays at a great pace. His game looked kind of similar to Reeves. He is super dangerous when he gets the ball with way he can shoot and get himself open. You just about have to run a lot of stuff through him with his skill level the way it is.

JUST UPDATED to include JAXSON ROBINSON !!!

Kentucky is expected to rely heavily on three-point shooting this upcoming season. Here is a very simple comparison of three-point shooting percentages (ranked by number of attempts) from last season, as reported in sports-reference.com and respective school websites, just for general interest and reference. Nothing is included for the three (3) Freshmen from their high school seasons, as you can see, but they are ALL believed to be EXCELLENT shooters. GO CATS !!!

Perry......44.9% from three as a senior
Noah......42% from three as a senior
Chandler..38% his last year at Farmington

GO CATS !!!
Seeing Mitchell’s 30% makes me sad, because he was shooting around 37-38% in the non conference + early conference schedule before his injury.

Not only is he a talented and smart player, he also provides the team with one non-coach from BYU last season, which I think is very important for trying to get 11 other new players to learn the system. Sometimes a peer can communicate something the coaches can’t quite get through.

To bad this year's team won't have a 52% 3-pt shooter coming off the bench.
That coaching malpractice was the nail in Cal's coffin at UK. He can call us crazy and bennies all he wants but there is not another coach in America that would have sat two NBA first rounders on the bench 8-10 minutes every game. He is an idiot and I'm glad he's gone.

Here are the year-by-year 3-point shooting percentages for the nine (9) veterans, including overall and in conference, ranked by career overall percentage. DNP = Did Not Play in that year.
I have also updated the original post to consolidate the statistics there ...

Nobody is talking about defense, remember Pope played for Pitino who had great defensive teams and Pope will utilize his bigs not like Cal.
Was just thinking about our defense when I read your post. I think we are going to be a very good 3 point shooting team but our defense is going to be so much BETTER than what is was last year which was none to see.

Defensive effort, intensity and overall effectiveness should be significantly increased, simply by the heavy competition for meaningful playing time in the games.
GO CATS !!!
