Upcoming Yellowstone

I don't mind having the story line involving the 6666 ranch and perhaps give the spinoff some validity if those cowboys stay on and reprise their roles for it. Cowboy shit for a neo-Western is what drew me into watching the show to begin with rather than the drama. Texas is where they were headed regardless if Costner left the show or not once the outbreak of brucellosis hit the Yellowstone Ranch. The writing could be more in-depth for the cowboys scenes rather than just sitting around a campfire, though the rattlesnakes in the camp was a good opening. Could have done without the Beth/Rip romantic getaway and on to the rest of the show.

Frankly, I am not sure how much better you can honestly expect Sheridan to have done with the writing of S5 Part B with 6 episodes to fill given the circumstances first with Costner's Horizon project delaying the finish to Season 5, the SAGA strike and then Kevin leaving altogether before needing to wrap this show up. As a fan, I would have liked to seen the show go on longer before all of the drama behind the scenes with Costner's exit. However, it was likely headed towards the end of John Dutton at some point anyway. Hate that it ends like this, but it is time as the show just isn't the same with Costner's presence involved. I will hold out some hope that Cole Hauser is right and not just trying to hype up the series finale by saying that it will be unexpected and none of the people's theories are right. Need something that will make getting through these last episodes worth it.

I was having trouble figuring out the timelines of what's going on. First they're all down in Texas, then they have the arc of John (not) killing himself and Rip is suddenly back at the Yellowstone ranch to console Beth, then they're back in Texas, then he's home again talking to Lloyd about the future. Obviously the two story lines happened at different times, but which came first? and it's confusing to the viewers. Another thing that got me, mainly because i'm an architect, but Kayce was replacing the roof on that hose with green metal roofing that looked new. a few scenes later they showed the house and that roof looked like it had aged 20 years. stains, patina, valleys were all black and stained. just thought that was funny.

Anybody watch the preview episode of Landman with Billy Bob Thornton. Thought that was pretty good other than the cheesy douchebag All-American football player boyfriend of his daughter. Glad that character will be short lived.

The 6666 ranch is actually owned by Taylor Sheridan. There is not one storyline that has come out of there that makes me go so can’t wait until that’s out on its own. To me it just takes away from the reason people are watching. 6666 storyline gets a D. The rest of the storyline for what people are actually watching for has been pretty good.

Yeah, they are using the series to promote his 6666 vodka etc. Kind of lame.

My take is they had a lot of canned film surrounding the 6666 ranch and decided to use it instead of an entire new storyline and shoot...which would have been very expensive.

Having said that, they are doing a terrible job of weaving between the two timelines.

Hell, last week I though Beth was driving down to donkey F Rip just after finding out her father offed himself (allegedly).

Actually Tulsa King & Lioness are pretty good as well on Paramount +. Like them all.
Agree. Have watched every episode of these two. Lioness is really interesting, and not a lot of people even know about it. I have Paramount with Amazon Prime. I watch those more than Netflix. Netflix is a bit stale right now and really considering cancelling my account. While I like SOME of them, they have too many shows that are made in other countries.

I agree that for me nothing is worse than seeing a movie that is in their top 10 and 10 seconds into it realizing that their lips say one thing but their words say something different. 🤣

Looks like the entire season is going to be flashbacks prior to the "suicide" and pimping 6666 products and upcoming series. I do think the Beth/Rip/Casey demolition of Jamie and his witch and her company will be good but you will have to go through a lot of fluff to get to it. Reminds me some of House of Cards when Spacey was fired and that least season was a mess but I think those 3 characters can at least hold this season up enough to make it somewhat interesting.

Yea, they definitely need to do a better job of transitioning between the two storylines.

I’ve actually enjoyed the first two eps more than I expected, but I think that’s because my expectations were pretty low after the past few years of issues. Really looking forward to seeing how they tie up the main storyline.

I'm dreading it. Beth gets away with everything. Was hoping she'd get her comeuppance in the end but don't see that happening now.

Jmo but it sure feels like beth wants her and rip to move down to the four sixes. I guess that will be what they hope will carry that show. We know jimmy sure cant.

Said something about that to my wife last night. Of course, she loves her, but i said she is so over the top that it has ruined the last season-plus of the show.

The first two episodes storyline dealing with the "suicide" have been decent. The cutting back and forth to Texas is too much. Detracts. Save that for the spinoff.

I wonder if Jamie will somehow redeem himself or is it going down what looks like an obvious ending with Rip, Kaycee and Beth killing him and his woman. I do like the Rainwater/Mo input. Wish they had more.

What are there, like four more episodes? I expect a month or two break before it's finished up.

Remember the old lady who told Beth "the big dog is on the porch now" and got fired recently? Wonder if Beth will bring her into the battle against that company

Liked Landman but how long until oil is discovered on the 6666 ranch and that becomes part of the story line?😂
If we can get more scenes like the ones at the High School Football game there is no telling which way this show might go. The one liners in this show are already HOF material. Like the writing, looking forward to the rest of the season.

Maybe I am old school but I like the tough and rugged cowboy type to not be running off, holding hands with his woman and grinning like a school girl while twirling said girl on the dance floor. Do you think you would see this guy doing that stuff? Heck no he wouldn't. C'mon Rip you are better than that.

It seems most likely once it turns political that Dutton was killed and Jamie’s plan of imminent domain etc is ruined that Beth will partner with the Indians to sell of some of the land, break a parcel off for Casey and take the proceeds to invest in Texas where their kind is appreciated.

Seems obvious so I’m probably wrong.

And no 6666 ranch crap.
Yeah, but the cowboys were left out completely. Barely any Rip, no Lloyd at the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch. They should still have a role for the rest of the series. Took the brand for a reason. Even if it is them coming back to be apart of the plan to go after Jamie, hang some more adversaries in the woods like Dan Jenkins but this time for good with the Market Equities executives and let them drop down the hill of the train station. Hell, any politicians that give them resistance or however this unfolds. The previews for each episode have been showing Beth saying something along the lines of all there is left to do is kill as many people before they kill you. Rip will be involved, but It would suck if the rest aren't featured at all in the final episodes.

While Beth is the ultimate Bitch, Jamie is far more deserving of a painful demise. Beth has been hurt most of her life and some of her bitchiness, especially towards Jamie is justified. She’s had her share of “comeuppance” throughout the series. She has a scar on her face to prove that.

Jamie is a sniveling bitch. He had his dad killed. He deserves a painful demise.

The writing has always been the weak point with Yellowstone. Most of the characters just don't seem realistic. I'm going to finish it, but I don't care that much how it turns out. "Landman" is not starting out well either, other than Billy Bob. I really hoped that would be good because a lot of it is filmed in Fort Worth.

With a truly great TV series like Sopranos or The Wire, the characters seem so realistic that you kind of miss them when it's over. I don't get that with Yellowstone. Although, Costner was great in it.

Speaking of Landman. I loved the scene in last episode at the Wind Turbines when Billy Bob explains to the Lawyer how and where oil products and used.

Meh, I think Sheridan got lazy with Yellowstone writing.
Let it finish up with the usual kill off some characters and be done with it.

Don't think they would have killed Sarah like that in broad daylight assassination on the side of the road in the middle of a neighborhood either. Hell that ties it all together......Lazy writing.

He is definitely getting his, whether it be from Rip, Kayce or Beth finishing the job after saying before she was going to eventually kill him. I would not rule out the possibility of him taking the coward's way out and committing suicide rather than facing the consequences for his actions since he almost went through with it before John stopped him in an earlier season. Especially with the death of Sarah Atwood no longer carrying his balls in her purse.

There's so many over-the-top things that have happened in that show. All the people that get killed and there aren't any detectives sniffing around? And these aren't transients they're taking out. They're very wealthy people and finally the governor of the state. The people of Montana must watch that show and laugh their asses off.

No different than SOA and like Sons, the longer the show ran the more absurd the writing got
