Unreal

I think stoops loves to ugly up a game. He’s content winning 10-7 as long as he wins, the problem is you’re not going to beat good teams that way

That's just silly to say that. If UK continues to improve their offense, and the defense stays where they are or improves, we will continue to play good teams close and we will beat them.

How often is 10 points gonna win a game though? Lol.

10 more points would've given us 3 more victories this season and postseason. If our offense wasn't coughing up turnovers and points like hairballs, we win 10.
.......

This second part isn't directed at you, but more towards others here

Stoops doesn't want to score X unless X is better than Y. He just wants to win. If we won 90-87, he'd be pissed at the D for giving up so many points but isn't going to complain about the points scored. If you think differently, pull your skirt down cause your bias is showing

Was going to say something similar. All 4 teams scored 41 or more and three of them had top 15 defenses. We couldnt hit 41 against an FCS team with a supposed 1st round draft pick at QB. The one that didn't have a top defense still was top 5 in offense with similar to worse recruiting classes.

The type of offense you run can be an equalizer to playing superior talent. We unfortunately have a coach that just wants to burn clock and score as little as necessary to keep his defense off the field. We'll never win the SEC or get to the playoffs playing antiquated football with our level of players.
Disagree, especially the last wo years. Brought in 2 NFL OCs to give us a much better offense. You think the McVay/Shanahan systems are 'antiquated'? I couldn't disagree more.

This year the OC was, in hindsight, a bad fit. Couple that with a porous OL, no RBs behind Rodriguez, a QB who did not progress as much as expected, woeful ST play and you have a team that struggled to score. I don't believe that is a reflection of Stoops' philosophy, though. He wants to run a pro system on both sides of the ball. Nothing wrong with that, imo. We just didn't do it very well this year for the reasons listed above.

Teams that consistently have fast break offenses play awful defense. Stoops is never gonna be that guy. We've already had that guy in Hal Mumme. Georgia is the template we're going for: physical on both LOS, solid defense, run the ball effectively to set up passing game, use a pro system on both sides.

Didn't work very well this year but I'm all for it. Just gotta have the right coaches and personnel and we should be fine again.

When I say antiquated it's because our offense tends to be more like 3 yards and a cloud of dust than a pro style offense. How often did we run up the middle a couple times then throw a screen pass on 3rd and long? Even with Coen we weren't lighting it up. I'll be surprised if we score more than 30 very often next season. It's just not what Stoops wants unless we score on every single drive using up tons of clock to get there. As many others have said, look at the changes made by Saban. He didn't just sit back and watch the game pass him by. He went from being able to beat you in a defensive battle to being able to do it in a shootout.

With coen we averaged 32 points a game in 2021, so why would you expect us not to score 30 very often next season when we averaged more than 30 over an entire season with him as OC.

I agree if you said these things 3 years ago, but stoops is trying very hard to seems
To bring in the pieces necessary to score.

Now if someone can convince him that we don’t have to wait until 1 second left to snap the ball every play then we really may score some points!

Maybe the NCAA should put 4 Big Ten teams in the playoff so they'll win a game.
Get used to it. With that gigantic TV deal the Big 10 just signed, the push is already on for the Big 10 to elevate above the SEC.

ESPN getting total control of SEC television rights will be the end of SEC domination in the media polls and multiple post season bids to the championship playoffs will be heavy on Big 10 teams.

Especially for the lower 8 seeds.

New qb, new rb, and poor offensive line. Just don't see all of that equaling a much better offense. Leary might not get back to preinjury form and what we saw in the bowl game wasn't promising. If the line doesn't make huge strides forward, will the new rb be as effective? Just a lot of question marks. Coen was lucky to have a great line with one of the best rb's ever here and a qb that they let run the ball. Going to be a bigger challenge for him next season.

You forgot 3 games that are 95-99% sure losses in TENN, Georgia and Bama as well.

I think the absolute ceiling is 9 wins regular season next year if all things click.

If the line plays the same next season we will be lucky to make a bowl unless our defense is top 10.

As far as better offense. I don’t see how our offense isn’t tons better next season. Our coach came out pre-season and handicapped our offense, then will got hurt and completely screwed it up.

We had like 3 plays this year. I think coen can do better.

If we don't get shored up at Tackle, that's the only way I see us not having a decent season. Or if our QB1 is injured again.

They add 2 west coast teams too. They'll have to show it on the field, or it'll look really bad though.

That really fkn sucked and has hurt the SEC nationally since. More money doesn't always equal a better deal

Sankey and the SEC got pummeled on that deal. Lost national coverage on multiple media platforms......AND ESPN broadcasts suck.

With the money the Big 10 is getting from that blockbuster deal, they will have the money to "look good" on the field.

If not, they will get paid anyway. More money and more tv coverage= more top players in all sports.

They got a honey deal for sure. If the SEC wants to close the gap some they are going to have to add a couple, maybe 4 name teams to get more $. ACC teams are not available for another 12 years, so about the only teams with enough market value would be someone like Oregon, maybe another Texas team, I don't know who else. I think the ACC is heading towards the group of 5 to become 6 soon.

Oregon and Stanford but hold a place for Clemson and UNC... just my preference. TCU and Tulane also might not be a bad add

I'd wait to see what the economy does. Whole lot of money being promised that people don't actually have. Netflix had to refund a bunch of money to advertisers because they had very few takers on their lower tier with commercials. I think that goes for us too though. ESPN/Disney isn't exactly killing it financially.

P.S.
Your Dogs had me sweating bullets the other night.

Couldn't take a loss to those TOSU jerks. Great win.

Mine too, but if they can't get out of that ACC contract is the SEC willing to wait 12 years when those programs won't be much more than Eastern Carolina is today?

The contract won't be worth it to the people that bought it then either. It's in both parties' best interests to negotiate this now before they both lose a lot of money
