Umm...does Pope not realize he's in Kentucky...??

Using the term 'neuron pathways' during his call-in show last night had to have BBN reaching for their dictionaries...

I'm just a Kentucky kid from a school with 440 students, K-1through -12.

But I can't help but note its NEURAL Pathways not "Neuron" pathways. There are three types, by the way: Converging, diverging and reverberating.

They learned us that about the same time as the Gazintas. Three Gazinta six two times. Four Gazinta 12 three times, and like that.

Pretty sure Pope said Neuron

Well hate to break it to you there teacher, BUT there is a neuron pathway as well as Neural pathways. #awkward.

No, pretty sure it’s not. Neural is actually considered the correct term. Could be wrong though I’m not one of them smart people
I had to google, sorry. neuron pathway" and a "neural pathway" essentially mean the same thing, referring to a connected series of neurons that transmit signals within the nervous system; however, "neural pathway" is the more commonly used term, as "neural" directly indicates relating to nerves or neurons, while "neuron" is simply the individual cell unit within that pathway. Either way he didn’t misspeak imo.

Isn’t google great lol

It’s actually the same thing not two different things

Not that it matters, but don't think neuron pathway is really the correct wording.

It's neural or neuronal as it's just a grammatical thing. Adding the "al" converts those into adjectives.

Bottom line, I think it's hilarious that Pope has fans nerding out based upon his response during the call-in show... 🤣

Haha, thank you for clarification. I wouldn’t know any of it had I not been helping my older daughter with her school project on the nervous system.

Well maybe you don't know what he is talking about but I have a Masters, I know what he is saying.

Well, maybe you don't know what he is talking about, but I have a Masters; I know what he is saying.

Proper punctuation in red. I could not resist. You folks got my inner grammar geek going.

I don't have a masters but spent the better part of 2007 and 2008 working with neurologists trying to diagnose my condition. Was at Mayo in Jacksonville seeing more doctors that I care to ever meet in 2 lifetimes. After 2 years the best guess is Episodic Ataxia from a mutated gene from concussions (football and wreck injuries). Anyway I understood all he had to say but man I wish I did not. I prefer the rootin around our brains to figure things out. lol

I mean, to be fair, and way too deep, it's one thing to talk about studies involving neural pathways. It's another, to actually understand -- like really understand -- neural pathways. I'm not sure humans really understand neural pathways.

And that's not to say I even slightly understand neural pathways, but I do like that Pope is forming his philosophy from data, studies and learning from experts. That's kinda dope.
