How was Auburn robbed? 1 and 3 in last 4.
To be honest, they good screwed, even Matt Jones said they deserved a better seed. One of the claims for UNC was they said a strong ACC which is a lie, but using that logic they why is UofL so screwed.
You think they’d be favored over Florida? Auburn? Houston? That’s ridiculous for SO many reasons.

At the end of the day they had 3 wins against tournament teams (Clemson 2x, UNC (last team in the field). They went three months without playing anyone and a stretch of about 8-9 games where they played nearly all teams with losing records. I thought a 7 was more in line but I don't see all of the outrage on the 8. They beat literally no one all year and the teams that were good they lost against (Tennessee, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Duke) beat them by an average of 18 pts per game, three of which were on their home floor.
I shall present to you two records, without names, but both teams play in the same conference.
Team 1
Record: 27-7
Quad 1: 4-6
Quad 2: 11-1
Quad 3: 7-0
Quad 4: 5-0
Team 2
Record: 27-6
Quad 1: 5-3
Quad 2: 8-2
Quad 3: 8-1
Quad 4: 6-0
Admittedly, team 1 has 1 fewer quad 1 victories and 3 more quad 1 losses, however they also played 2 more Quad 1 games. Conversely, Team 1 has a single loss to a quad 2 team, while team 2 has 2 quad 2 losses and 1 quad 3 loss.
One of these teams got a 5 seed and the other an 8. Officially, the NCAA determined one of these teams is the 18th best in the country and the other is 29th. Curiously, head to head the 29th team beat the 18th team TWICE. The 29th team has lost two games since before Christmas. The 29th team finished ahead of the 18th team in conference play, and the only loss they had in conference play outside of the conference tournament, the 18th ranked team ALSO lost to, but 18 lost AT HOME while 29 lost on the road.
You cannot make it make sense.
The NCAA literaly said Auburn is the overall 1 seed. How many times has the overall 1 seed played a road game against a top #15 team in the second round. Auburn still has the best body of work. They should not have a road game against a top 15 team in the second round.

Have to consider the entire resume, and quality of top end wins is part of that.
I'm not saying 29 deserved to be ahead of 18, but given the whole body of work, there isn't THAT much of a difference. The NCAA's own NET ranking says the same, because there the two teams are 22 and 24. SOS also suggests the 29th team had a more difficult schedule, overall.

Auburn is really the one that got screwed. An 8 seed gets a home game against them.
The NET ranking also has a 5 seed ranked 25 spots lower than Louisville. There are a lot of problems with their process but if we’re being honest there are like 15 teams jumbled together between the 4 and 8 lines that are pretty similar level of teams imo. Someone was always going to get screwed. Which is why I think it wasn’t an accident that they got Lexington.
Kentucky was a two seed and played Wichita State which was a top 10 team in 2017. I don't see a lot of difference.

WSU was 20th in the last regular season poll, Kentucky was one of the last 2 seeds., and they played much closer to UK than to WSU
Louisville is now 10th in the AP poll, Auburn is the first 1 seed, and the game is much closer to Louisville than Auburn

And comparing Louisville in Ken Pom to WSU 2017 is a big difference.
Imagine being a top 10 team and getting an 8 seed. They screwed over Auburn and Louisville.
But Auburn isn't going to have any trouble with Louisville anyway.

as a UK fan i have no sympathy for any team crying about seeding after years of UK getting screwed over on seeding

Scroll waaaaaaay down in the SOS column below the likes of Northwestern, Cincy and Utah to find the dukies. Do you think that they are prepared to face better, battle tested teams in a one and done setting? With a hobbled Flagg? I don’t.
I remember when UK had a good team, got shafted with an 8 seed and went on to screw up many brackets under Cal.

Okay great. But Duke was consistently beating these ACC teams by 30-40 points, that's impressive.
The analytics per CBS state Duke would be favored today by 2.5 over UF, 3.5 over Houston, and 3.5 over Auburn.
But sure...in January they were beating bad teams by 40 rather than playing in games down to the wire, which means....nothing?
