It looked like to me they were a bit "underwhelmed" at being an 8 seed...anybody else notice?
They beat one decent team all year. Their fans don’t want to hear that though. It looked like to me they were a bit "underwhelmed" at being an 8 seed...anybody else notice?
Hell yeah we would've.Our fans would be up in arms if we got an 8 seed as the 13th ranked team (by the AP Poll) in the country. There would probably be a group ready to burn down the NCAA's HQ.
Duke did beat UL head to head. But Duke didn’t really beat much of anybody UL didn’t beat except for Auburn, which was only a typical screw job at Cameron Indoor. Duke is only one game ahead of UL in their conference and they couldn’t even beat the one decent team UL beat.
To seed UL beneath Duke is reasonable. To seed UL all the way down at 8 while making Duke the second 1 seed just behind the overall number one seed Auburn is gonzo insane. They have a legitimate gripe.
We probably wouldn’t be 13th ranked if we didn’t beat any top 20 team and had only 3 wins over the top 45.Our fans would be up in arms if we got an 8 seed as the 13th ranked team (by the AP Poll) in the country. There would probably be a group ready to burn down the NCAA's HQ.
UofL has a better resume than St MarysI had UL modeled at 29, which would be the first 8 seed.
NET had them at 23, which would br a 6.
Kenpom also had them at 23.
So I think you can reasonably call them a low 6 to high 8 on the metrics.
If you move them up to the 6 or 7 line, who do you bump out? BYU, Mississippi, Marquette, UCLA?
Go compare those resumes and get back to me and explain why UL should be in front of them, with their 4 Q1 wins and tied for second in the weakest ACC ever.
I wouldn’t be happy with that draw for a team from a major conference that finished with a record like that. Granted the league sucked but they did what they should have. Even eye test and national rank shows they should have been higher than an 8. It’s funny and I despise them but they got hosed.I thought an 8 seed was a bit too low. I was thinking maybe 6 seed. But their fans should be happy it's Lexington. Will be really interested to see how much red gets in. Will their fans show up.
If the second best team in the conference is an 8, then yeah, Duke has no business as a 1. It just screams pure unbridled bullshit. Duke's best conference win is an 8 seed? And they lost to the 5 seed? Horse shit.Agree. Lets throw in unc.
There is no way to justify unc and duke getting in on strength of conference but sliding UL down to 8. It cannot be reconciled.
Like you said, the entire lot only had one really good win. Duke is obviously better but not 7 seeds better simply because of one player.
Imo duke should've been a 2 (probably a 3 but that was never happening) and UL a 5 or 6 and UNC not even sniffing the field.
UofL has a better resume than St Marys
That is who they should have bumped
I’d personally take the seed lines over being closer to home.what's more valuable? 1-2 seed lines higher, or playing a home game for the first 2 rounds?
If they thought they were in the running for a 4, they were highly delusional. Most of the Bracket Matrix guys had them as a 6. I'm not arguing they should be.
They felt like they should have been even higher. So they were probably thinking like a 4 seed. So, they think they were slighted even moreso.
There’s so much more that is considered now. The AP poll has very little to do with seeding. It’s more about body of work and theirs is trash. Our fans would be up in arms if we got an 8 seed as the 13th ranked team (by the AP Poll) in the country. There would probably be a group ready to burn down the NCAA's HQ.
Well efficiency metrics like KenPom had Duke as one of the best teams of all time while Louisville wasn’t top 20.Duke did beat UL head to head. But Duke didn’t really beat much of anybody UL didn’t beat except for Auburn, which was only a typical screw job at Cameron Indoor. Duke is only one game ahead of UL in their conference and they couldn’t even beat the one decent team UL beat.

They're Louisville fans. Of course they're highly delusional. If they thought they were in the running for a 4, they were highly delusional.
I still remeber 2014 and them convincing themselves they were in the running for a 1 seed. They got a 4.They're Louisville fans. Of course they're highly delusional.
Would be kind of weird having Duke being a 2 seed but being 2.5-4.5 point favorites against all of the other 1 seeds, wouldn't it?????If the second best team in the conference is an 8, then yeah, Duke has no business as a 1. It just screams pure unbridled bullshit. Duke's best conference win is an 8 seed? And they lost to the 5 seed? Horse shit.
I think you are making a case against Clemson being a 5.I think it's hard to give Clemson a 5 seed and Louisville an 8 when Louisville beat them twice.
I think UofL should have gotten a 6 seed.
What do you Duke fans think about UNC getting in . Surely it wasn’t because their AD was chairman of the board….right……? lolWould be kind of weird having Duke being a 2 seed but being 2.5-4.5 point favorites against all of the other 1 seeds, wouldn't it?????
I feel sorry for the Rupp arena ticket office, when the UL fans want to trade food stamps for game ticketsI feel sorry for the guards and staff at the Jefferson County Detention Center today. They are going to have to deal with a lot of disappointed and angry UL fans.
The committee is nothing but a contradiction. What do you Duke fans think about UNC getting in . Surely it wasn’t because their AD was chairman of the board….right……? lol
My thoughts exactly. I believe they will beat ole miss .The committee is nothing but a contradiction.
You give the Louisville the 8 seed, which is saying you think the ACC sucks. Fine. But how is UNC in than?
Auburn gets the #1 overall seed, due to their insane amount of Q1 wins, way more than Duke. Fine. But how is UNC in with 1 Q1 win?
Not to mention.....UNC got a great draw and wouldn't surprise me if they sneak into the Sweet16.
