I watched the UL game with a big UL supporter and he claims if no other sanctions happen then next year they should be the favorite to win it all. He says the last 2 classes along with King in the next class will be the clear favorite.

My question is, am I missing something? They will be good defensively for sure but how are they going to score?

Tell that UL fan to put down the pipe.

No, you're not missing anything. They'll likely lose 2 more games, will finished ranked in the mid teens, and will likely be ranked there or slightly higher next year when the season starts. Could they eventually become a favorite? Sure, but it doesn't sound like that's what he's saying.

It's no different, or any better, than the uk fans here who say every year that Louisville will suck. From 2001 to 2011, that was a reasonable take. For the last 5 years, Pitino has his mojo back....

Louisville has some very good young players. They wont be the favorite to win it all, but they will be Top 10.

His "mojo" was cheating to get players the last five years so those years don't count.

They have a core of Freshmen and Sophs that they think very highly of. They think Pitino sticks around and works his magic with these guys and they kick butt the next couple of years.

even if pitino stays, doubt they start the year ranked. some ok pieces, nothing special. their fans have been over rating their talent for years.

for the past few seasons you can count the number of really good wins they have had on one hand. they hid behind scheduling and benefit great from terrible officiating.

With Onuaku, Adel, Johnson, Snider, Spalding, Mitchell and King they will most definitely be ranked.

If you took the scandal out of the equation (which 90% of Louisville fans have already done), I don't see them labeled favorites, but theyd definitely be top 5ish and one of the teams in the discussion.

Favorite to win it all? In the under 18 hoe league? [laughing]

Wow, how you could mention Snider and top 10? He is a turd of a PG, Michale Porter and Saul Smith are good comparissons...

No way they are anything but a top 25 next year as they will lose the 3 best players in Onuaku and the 2 transfers . UL will not be great in the least . They have lots of top 100 recruits but only 1 top 20 one and it is the guy coming next season . That don't cut it for being a great team. Also Pitino won't be there either...

It all depends on what the NCAA does to UL. If they come down hard oh UL who is to say King will be there next year .

They ARE going to have scholarship restrictions next year. They will probably have a post season ban. They will not be a threat to be the best team in Louisville for the foreseeable future.

They are getting another 5th year transfer but Onaku and Adel could both be gone and Snider is average, who knows what you got in King and the transfer. The transfer may bail fearing sanctions so they may end up being average at best.

I like the Mitchell and Spalding kids. The UL fans are thinking, since their AD fell on a sword that their problems with the NCAA is over. They are still attacking the messenger. IMHO There are still more sanctions coming.
