Murray 27 points, 6 assists

Goodwin 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists

WCS 19 points, 14 rebounds

Poythress 18 points, 6 rebounds

Randle 13 points, 8 rebounds

Kanter 12 points, 5 rebounds

Meeks 12 points

Noel 10 points, 7 rebounds

Rondo 10 points, 5 assists, 6 rebounds

Liggins 8 points, 7 rebounds

Andrew Harrison 8 points, 4 rebounds

Plus some kid named Towns (not quite 2nd-tier) went for 28 points and 21 rebounds...

Also, kind of cool that the class of '12 (WCS, Noel, Goodwin, Poythress) combined for 67 points and 34 rebounds.

Agree 100%. I always liked the guys in that class and am glad to see them getting their chance in the NBA. Had no doubt WCS and Noel would be just fine, but it's great seeing Archie finding a home and a contract in NJ and Poy showing that he's worthy of a roster spot in Philly. Best of luck to all of them.

Who cares about the NBA? I'm a Kentucky fan...I'm only interested in National Championships. Once they leave Kentucky, they're dead to me....o_O

Total sarcasm....just trying to make a few posters feel at home.

Great to see all these guys doing well in the league. It'll be interesting to see if they can get "quality" minutes next year during the season. Still hope James Young & Aaron Harrison will get some run to next year. (I know JY is already on the Celtics)

5 lottery picks on that list..."2nd Tier", lol.

That;s awesome!!!

I really hope all those guys stick and do well. Some of those really aren't second tier.

It's that time of year. Teams that are locked in are resting guys and teams that are eliminated are giving young guys minutes and hoping for more ping pong balls. Great stretch of season to keep an eye on developing talent and let guys show what they can do in increased roles.

It's like the NFL Preseason, but in reverse.

It's a good time to get some minutes for younger players. A lot of stars are being shutdown for the season or at least having minutes capped. If you're some of the 2nd tier Kentucky guys, now's the time. And it looks like quite a few are taking advantage.

Lol at these posters getting offended by using "second tier." Go to your local YMCA as they are safe place and they already know words hurt.

The OP obviously meant no offense by the word. He was simply providing context for the players he mentioned since most of our top tier guys were resting (Wall, Boogie, AD).

But some people literally can't through a day 2017 without taking offense. There's always social justice to be had! Even when none is needed....

lol at people getting offended by "2nd tier". Maybe instead of "2nd tier", you can use "less established", so people don't get their feelings hurt.

One more " " for good measure.

Looking at those numbers I had a crazy thought: The night might come soon when former Kentucky Wildcats score ten percent of all the points scored in the NBA on that night. Here's the rough calculation: 30 NBA teams playing on a given night average 100 points each, for 3,000 points. The 22 Wildcats average 14 points, for 308 points. Obviously, not everyone will have 14, but there are a half dozen Cats capable of 30-40 point nights, which would double or triple their contribution.

Just for the record...

I think most of them are not even second tier, but third/fourth.

That was my point. Not sure how up and coming star in Murray is same as players who is at the of the bench and hoping to make the NBA rotation.

Being offended that the players are second tier is hilarious.

Did a quick scan of NBA box scores at lunch...15 Kentucky players scored a total of 198 points, BUT, these guys didn't play: AD, Cousins, Wall, Booker, Ulis, Knight, Bledsoe.

On a given night, when all Cats were healthy and playing, Kentucky players might easily score 300-350 points, out of around 3,000 or so for the entire league. That's a fair amount of dominance for one college program, considering the percentage of European players, the pre-OAD guys still in the league like LeBron, etc...

That's partially true but some of these guys are playing because they are already tanking or are not playing anymore.

Yes but they are being replaced by younger better version every year. For example a couple of older players who played but still have 2 or 3 more seasons Rondo and Meeks will see another pg and another 2 guard in Fox and monk coming in. With an older 3rd tier guy like liggins will see Briscoe and hump join him. If bam stays in the draft then the newbies out number the older guys whos games are tanking. After Fox and monk are their a couple seasons I would like to see what percen of points rebs assists steals and blocks are of former cats. How cool of a recruiting tool would that be for Cal to say my guys account for 10 to 15perecnt of these stats then drop that billion dollar salary down and say and this is why they make this

You calling people snowflakes tells me all I need to know [roll]
I hope so. People are turning into a bunch of:

2nd-tier just almost sounds demeaning...kinda like you being a smart a$$.

Jamal Murray is a rookie and you've already labeled him second tier?

By NBA standards, they are (some would actually be third tier). Nothing demeaning about it. They’re amongst the top 400 players in the world (some are among the top 100 players in the world). That’s an incredible achievement. Some, like Murray, could eventually become top 50 players in the NBA.

They’re young players who are developing. Would it have been more accurate if I had called them 1st tier NBA players or even 1st tier by Calipari standards of former players? I think not.

I thought my point was obvious.

True.

However, producing in the NBA, against the world’s best, is still very telling; especially for a collection of players who are mostly south of 23 years old. It's hard enough to make the league, especially hard to produce in the league, even against reserves.
