This is the worst current aspect of the gameday experience. You old rockers have no idea how out this is with 18-22 year olds. I used to get into some Metallica, but when this hits our terrible sound system on third downs it's an absolutely embarrassing mess. It has got to go.
Next time this comes on, get out of Metallica fan boy mode and notice the dull cloud that engulfs the stadium. The lameness is palpable.
As far as 3rd down music is concerned, at least in the present, Seven Nation Army is pretty happening. Metal had its day, even with me, but I did just use the past tense.
That song sounds like air being let out of a balloon. The same thing happens in the stadium when it's played.
I think you're getting it confused with that Seven Nation Army song. When most people hear it, they hear something like this

Who cares what a 18-22 year old thinks? Don't say "recruiting tool". Most of the times the recruits sit and play on their phones. They don't care what music is being played. Have you even been to a game this year? The music and gameday experience is vastly improved.

I've missed 1 home game since I was 5, now 27. I wasn't even thinking of recruits. Was thinking of our defense on the field and the noise the fans in the stand feel compelled to make, which, since you bring it up, has a big impact on the recruit experience.
I think some of you really want "We Built This City" from Starship, but just won't come out and say it. Frankly, I'm not sure I want PA music on 3rd down at all, like some other folks on here. Maybe we make a project of building up that band and getting more AA control of its composition and playlist. I really could care less about some lame ass Metallica. The only made 1 song worth a hoot and that was inner sandman. The rest is your typical screaming guitar laden music by guys trying to look like women.
Where I come from only the Joe Dirt's of the world actually listened to hair band music.
Not to mention it's old, out of date, lame, maybe 10% likes it and should have been buried many many years ago.
It's Just like the argument that we don't need to change, keep the basic blue and white uniforms and power K We don't need to have what the kids like but what some old Joe Dirt likes instead

INNER Sandman LOL ..... Metallica is a stretch to call them Hair Metal as they are far from that and they have many platinum albums and top ten songs – Their albums before Black were phenomenal. Sleaze, Cock Rock, Hair or whatever you want to call it, still out lives it's cheesy predecessors.

That song only has four notes in the whole song that is worth playing on third down.... It would be like Jaws....
Music would be great on 3rd down.... Don't get mad and take you pig skin home.... I think the game cock crowing on third down is good for USC... The cow bells.... I think we could find a theme to play on third down and maybe change it each year, or not.... The wild cat roar wouldn't be good over and over, I don't think....

we should blast a SLF wave from nearby HAARP antenna and make them puke……might also impact UK's team……and the fans now that I think about it…..but that would be TRULY effective
