We will find out real quick if Brad White has figured out how to defend that little sideline play where the DB'S have to make a snap decision on who covers who
It is not a "snap decision on who covers who". It is a matter of tackling effectively and preventing yards after the catch. Heupel isolates his wideouts on a DB. The pass comes quickly to the WR after the snap, sometimes with a blocker running to the outside from the inside. So it is one-on-one (or two-on-two, if the blocker is another WR). If the WR isn't tackled on initial contact, he often has room to run down the sideline. And if there are only six defenders in the box, the TN QB checks down to a running play. That's how they blew us out in Knoxville. We have the personel to defend it, especially with Trevin Wallace and Keeshawn Silver back. But we have to tackle well. AL tackled well and easily outplayed TN in the second half. We may not have AL's offensive weapons, but (with Wallace and Silver back) our defense has the pieces to slow TN's offense down if we execute and avoid the stupid penalties.
