UK vs Ole Miss game 1...

Big series beginning at 6:30 pm at The Cliff. Cats are 9-9 in the SEC, while the Rebels come in at 10-8 in the conference. UK will start A J Reed, 7-1, while Ole Miss will start Chris Ellis 5-0.
These are 2 of the best offensive teams in the SEC, the Cats hit .316, while the Rebs bat .300.as a team. UK really needs to take this series and stay in the running for a bye in the SEC tournament, same goes for OM.
Hopefully a good crowd will show up for tonights game and we can get off to a winning start in game 1 of the series.

Awful start, Reed gets lit up like a Christmas tree, Rebels taking batting practice, lead 7-0 in the 3rd. Mahar now in, it's that bad ! Maybe we can make it respectible, but we have a looooong way to go.

Rebels now up 10-2, Cats get on the board via AJ Reed's 2 run homer, his 17th of the season. Top of the 7th inning.

Uhh... that is just ugly. Getting destroyed 10-2. Reed with another home run is the only positive.

Final score Ole miss 12 UK 4. Storm Wilson with a 2 run HR in the 9th. OM had 12 runs on 15 hits, 0 errors, UK with 4 runs on 8 hits, 1 error. Rebels go to 11-8 in SEC play, while UK falls to 9-10 in conference.
Maybe tomorrow will be better, UK softball also lost 6-3 to Tennessee, bad start to a big sports weekend in Lexington.

Hope Dwyer can battle tomorrow and the Cats can put more runs on the board....they really need to avoid a sweep.
