Cats will try to even the series with their best pitcher on the hill. Here's hoping Dustin Beggs can get us squared up tonight in Oxford.
Our hitters will need to be more focused than they were Thursday, as they were 0 for 11 with runners in scoring position. If we can somehow win this series, our RPI would benefit greatly.

I feel bad for Zack Brown, he pitched pretty well. Cats just could not get a hit with RISP. Ole Miss appears to have a very good Bullpen, so getting out to an early lead could be big.
Hendo got his Zach pop fix last night, 2 innings, 1 run, so someone else ie. Salow, Strecker, Lewis, Hjellie will be called on. Glad to see Evan White back (3 hits) just helps out on offense. Mcneill is going thru a slump much like Shelby did, do not know if they might sit him a game (probably not), Mahan hits better further down in the lineup, not clean up, and Becker had a good game (3 hits) the opportunity is there.
.

UK still sitting at # 45 in the up to date RPI, winning the next 2 games would move us up 8-10 spots IMO. The SOS will automatically be better simply by playing Ole Miss.
We are currently 13-12 in the Sec, and 29-21 overall. Picking up win # 30 would be another threshold we can get to with a win.

Awful start to this game, Beggs getting hit like Rocky Balboa. OM gets 3 runs in the 1st inning, 2 doubles and 2 HR's. Could be a loooong night in Oxford !

OK, I know everyone cannot wait to show Hendo and Eckstein the door, but this is on the players. You have to have some frickin PRIDE. You go out and get blasted, looking like a bunch of horse asses in the process.
Stupid mental and physical errors, that you learn in little league or senior league, much less HS and Juco ball. If the Cats have any fight, they will come out today and show some anger and fight in front of a bunch of Mississippi rednecks who will be hootin, hollerin and probably horse laughing our arses back to Lexington.

After yesterday this team sits in ninth place in the league and probably little chance of making the ncaa's. You can talk about the kids having pride, but there is zero leadership on this team from the top and a change has been needed for several years now. I really don't see how they do as well as they do. Pride, leadership starts from the top not the bottom and it is past time clean house just ask some of the parents of the players.

I agree with both your viewpoints to an extent. 1 The leadership is missing, too laid back about everything, no fire in arguing missed calls, unlike Cohen who got tossed pretty regularly. 2 The players have no sense of urgency, if someone is taking batting practice against your pitcher, you send one high and tight to back them off the plate, they must not get THAT comfortable like last night. 3 fundamentals, Mahan leads all Sec players in errors 25, that is unacceptable, Mcneill getting picked off 2nd base by the OM catcher, this is equal part coaching staff and player.
This team is letting what should be a no doubt NCAA bid slip away. The schedule was set up fantastic, no back to back road weekends, No Texas A&M, No LSU, No Miss. State on the schedule, instead you had Arkansas, and Auburn 2 bottom feeders, and you loose both series. Plenty of blame to spread around, Coaches AND players share equally !

You can't fire the players and then they haven't been here for nine years of this stuff...time to put it to rest and hopefully get someone in here who has more vision and control that players can rally around.
