UK vs NKU Wednesday ...

‪ Crazy stat from Headrick on UK radio network : Cats have 4 hits today, and NKU hasn’t used a pitcher who came into the game with an ERA under 11.00. ‬

[sick]

At least the 5th hit was better. Got to make a big time comeback in the 9th though.

Mach again? He's at 30 pitches. Seems likely that he might not be available for Friday...?

Cottam tried to even this up on those swings. He got pretty good pitches, but just couldn't catch up.

Got to move Heyer up those couple slots...he’s got to get as many abs as possible.

Cincinnati-area teams must be the kryptonite. Cats' only losses this year to Xavier, NKU. Still 12-2 headed into huge weekend series with No. 5 Texas Tech at Cliff Hagan Stadium.

NKU pitcher challenged the Kentucky hitters with fast balls in the zone and UK couldn't catch up to it. Cottam and Collett had their chances. Collett battled. Went down 0-2 swinging at two fast balls before fighting back. He then got a pitch to hit but swung through it.

Not happy about that loss. It's a bad one, but it happens and we can erase it this weekend.

I got aggrivated and turned it off at 7-2 NKU, Cats did apparantly rally to get close. Still, this was a Bad loss to a team coming in at 2-9.
However, winning the series this weekend against TT would sooth my hurt feelings ! lol

Terrible and inexplicable loss to a 2-9 team. Mind boggling really. But even the best MLB teams lose to the cellar dwellers sometimes. Still frustrating as hell.

Moral of the story: Don't schedule two mid-week games. Our pitching is not deep enough. Terrible loss to a 2-9 team. We will get another shot at Xavier on March 20. There is no chance to get redemption vs Northern Kentucky.

Redemption is unnecessary. We just need to take care of business against the weekend teams for the most part and we will be fine.

Well, you have to remember that this was a very cold game and Northern Kentucky is more used to colder temperatures because they are, well, Northern. I kid, I kid...
