UK vs Cincinnati ( Tues.).....

Cats take on Cincy in a mid-week game at 6 :30 pm @ the Cliff. UK looking for pay back after dropping a 2-1 decision in 10 innings up in Cincinnati a couple of weeks ago.
UK comes in with an 18-7 record and ranked as high as # 16. The Bearcats come in with a 12-11 record, with wins over UK, Indiana, and # 1 ranked Louisville to their credit.
Should be an entertaining ball game, look for Zack Thompson on the mound for UK in all likely hood.

We were 8-6 the last time that we played Cincinnati and our hitting had not improved. We shall see what happens in this game. Last time was 2-1. I expect UK to do much better than that at the plate this time.

The 1st game vs UC, was where we showed NO patience at the plate what so ever. We had 5 innings where the Bearcat pitcher threw 9 pitches or less. Easily our worst performance of the season so far !

Bottom of the second and back to back doubles by Cottam and Pompey get UK back in it 4-2. No outs.

Luke Becker with a PH solo blast, cuts the lead to 6-4.

Aggressive base running set the CATS up with two runners in scoring position.

Evan White with a chance to tie it up- hit the ball hard but right at the SS on a line out

That pitcher for Cincy was giving up a lot over the plate.

Wow!! Then Heady gets hit by a pitch to give the lead to UK.

10-6 thanks to a White single that scored two and a Carson out to the pitcher that scored a run.

Pop a little shaky starting out giving up a lead off double and a HBP, gets a K, then gives up an infield single. then another K, then another K to end the game. Final UK 13 UC 7.

Pop is always a bit iffy. He'll be deadly if he can get consistent.
