Tennessee is very good at holding. The refs are very bad at calling them for holding.

You give UT less time to score. It's what you SHOULD do against a fast pace offense.
Ideally you vary your tempos on situations.

Anytime a team can go 80 yard in 90 seconds to score a td (and TN can and does against our D regularly) then slowing down just kills your chances of beating them.

They are not going to slow down. They just keep on scoring.

Situational football. Get it under 10 with the lead and let your defense get a stop. You get the ball back with like 7 left and the lead. UT is too damn quick to give them extra time.

26-23 if you miss the 2 pt. conversion is not good compared to 26-24.

Look where we are now. 2 scores again. It would have been 1 score with a successful 2pt and still 2 scores if we missed the 2pt.

I'm not big on betting UT doesn't get a TD which is exactly what they did.

How about coaching our way through this game which they’ve hd plenty of chance to do instead of falling back in the old uk mentality to blame the refs for the game in the first half? That call has zero to do with the score. Our defense can’t stop them. We had a chance and choked it to piss poor play calling
