Very fair. It isn’t just the loss, it is the margin and the quality of opponent. It is also the lack of margins in wins. Still possible to move back up some but I don’t think defensive issues are entirely fixable, some of them are but not all of them.

Hope we get back to shooting the ball better (not just 3's but bunnies too) or we're in for a very rough time in conference. This ain't your grandad's OR SEC this year, it's going to be tough finding wins if we aren't playing very well on both ends.

I said this in the game thread with OSU, I needed this loss as badly as the team did because my expectations were getting to be through the roof. I am back down to where I was to begin the season. We are a fringe top 25 team with warts. I am not mad about it. It's a first-year coach with a brand new, quickly assembled roster. I had always felt this could be a tough year. It was the price we paid for a new path forward. Just the surprise wins against Duke and the Zags put my head in the clouds. Now I am back to reality.

Don't worry about the rankings. We were overrated at 4 and will find our footing again with wins over Brown and Florida. I believe UK will end the season in the top 15 and get a 3-4 seed. That's not bad considering Pope put this roster together in the spring from what was still available in the portal.

The missed lay-ups are the killer and too many fancy behind the back no look passes that are great for style points on ESPN, but end up taking our own guys by surprise, AND Brea HAS to learn how to get open.

Agree, defense has been a major concern all season, but all of the JV teams we played could not take advantage of the weakness. However, you can expect every SEC team to copy the OSU game plan.

It would be better if he guarded someone, to give him a break gouys have hit so many tough 15 footers over him but he can’t stop anyone. We need to zone more.

I think it was pretty obvious we were a little overated. Just a little.

It’s tough to figure out how we beat Duke and Gonzaga.

I believe we are a top 15-20 team, that hasn’t played very good basketball in quite a while now. Especially on the defensive end.

More effort, fix the D, more open looks for shooters….easy peasy. We are still ahead of where I thought we’d be with this group of players. It only gets better from here with a couple highly touted freshmen annually.
