Without the player's there would be no program. Nothing wrong with a kid achieving their goals.Grrrr.
I thought we didn't care about NBA and the name on the back of the journey anymore.
Their goals should be banners. You get kids in here thinking about NBA, then it's just me, me, me. Chucking it up from 3.Without the player's there would be no program. Nothing wrong with a kid achieving their goals.
Kids that only think banners will never hang banners.Their goals should be banners. You get kids in here thinking about NBA, then it's just me, me, me. Chucking it up from 3.
Every player thinks about the NBA at this level. If they aren’t, then chances are they aren’t good enough to play for UK.Their goals should be banners. You get kids in here thinking about NBA, then it's just me, me, me. Chucking it up from 3.
Grrrr.

That never going to happen. Unrealistic to think it ever will. The nba isn’t what it was 30-40 years ago, these kids grow up from 5-8 and dream of the NBA or a career in basketball. What you are asking would be like asking a college student in an internship not to worry about their future career and only worry about the internship.Their goals should be banners. They will be busy training for the draft and stuff, this is during a time where they are in shape and practicing while not having a lot to prepare for so it’s ok.Why can't a Pro Day be conducted AFTER the season ??
Gotcha ... i just thought since football is post-season ...They will be busy training for the draft and stuff, this is during a time where they are in shape and practicing while not having a lot to prepare for so it’s ok.
Mine is Keion Brooks being ruled out, with a leg injury. And then throwing down windmills at pro day.My favorite pro day memory, Brandon Boston saying he wants to be the greatest player of all time.
Are you talking about Keion Brooks? The two time all-PAC 12 player?Mine is Keion Brooks being ruled out, with a leg injury. And then throwing down windmills at pro day.
No, it's not what "college is for". College is for getting an education, with the hopes that the obtained education will lead one to greater opportunities, for most it would be to prosper doing something they trained for. The key is EDUCATION. College is not there to prepare them for the NBA, or to help students with their NBA dreams. That thinking needs to go away, yesterday! That never going to happen. Now they should definitely have the desire to hang banners while they are here, but absolutely nothing wrong with preparing them for the next level and helping them achieve their dreams. That’s what college is for……
As long as that's the only reason this "pro day" is happening, but for many here that's NOT what it's hopefully for. I hope CMP stands by his word to make this all about UK and championships. We have a team FULL of veterans who mostly only have 1 year of eligibility left, it’s a GREAT idea to let them work out in front of NBA scouts.
We hated the Pro Day under Cal because we had a team full of freshmen with one foot out the door before they stepped on campus.
Our current team mostly HAVE TO leave after the season, let them get some feedback from scouts prior to the season.

And cream of the crop freshmen.I would like to see a Venn diagram of people who hate pro day and want the cream of the crop portal players to come to Kentucky.

Is there a different one?Are you talking about Keion Brooks? The two time all-PAC 12 player?
Since the transfer portal is right after the season and all that, a lot of these players won’t even be at the same schools anymore as well.Gotcha ... i just thought since football is post-season ...
My favorite was Shady Sharpe saying he was coming early to learn and maybe play second half of the season.. only to have a giant splinter in his arse all year and then bolting. Acting like he didn’t know he would do that.Mine is Keion Brooks being ruled out, with a leg injury. And then throwing down windmills at pro day.
The problem isn't when the pro day occurs; it is when the pro day and everything NBA takes priority #1. When your head coach thinks the NBA draft is more important than the NCAA Championship, there is a huge problem. Why can't a Pro Day be conducted AFTER the season ??
The key is being marketable enough to get a job that can enable you to pay back massive college loan debt while taking care of yourself and family. Just an education and not enough money in your bank account will make you homeless and hungry, just saying. No, it's not what "college is for". I guess he will never be without wanting. My favorite pro day memory, Brandon Boston saying he wants to be the greatest player of all time.

This is the timeframe that most colleges have their Pro Day, Main reason, NBA is not in season right now. After season, NBA teams still playing. Why can't a Pro Day be conducted AFTER the season ??
