The obsession is real.Yeah he will be a Vol. We needed a big back in this class.
He is a big back, who wouldn’t be obsessed with him. Having a huge year too, big need for our class. The obsession is real.
We needed a big back Saturday. Against Georgia they went two high safety man coverage and blanketed our receivers and brought pressure with a light line. We didn’t have a big back to take advantage of it. Saying we don’t use a big back is true….because we don’t have one. This offense we run needs a big bruising tough back.No big deal. Tennessee offense doesn’t really use a big back. Mainly use speedy backs and receivers. He also visited South Carolina and if he’d rather go there than UK he’s too dumb anyways. Plenty of selections in the portal.
Do you know who else is recruiting him ?Wish UK would look at Male’s rb Daniel Swinney. Big strong runner. 220 lbs.Multi year starter.
He better hope your new coach can use him in whatever system he runs when Hippo leaves. We needed a big back Saturday. Lol we will see I guess. I think Heupel still has more to prove before he considers going anywhere. Most likely he gets a huge raise this year (deservedly). He better hope your new coach can use him in whatever system he runs when Hippo leaves.
You’re not going to find one running the pass happy offense. In Heupel’s offense it’s 3:1 pass to run. Can he promise him 20 touches a game? You guys ran into a team that is strong and fast. Georgia has overpowering strength and sneaky speed. You won’t face a team like that again until the championship game if you’re there. Ashame that game is in Los Angeles. It belongs on a college campus. We needed a big back Saturday. Against Georgia they went two high safety man coverage and blanketed our receivers and brought pressure with a light line. Cause they can't go to the UGA board and run their yaps. Why are Tennessee trolls attracted to our message board? Why do they feel compelled to come here and gloat in our face? Are they they insecure? WTH?
We actually rush for a slight bit more than we pass. Kirby himself said our offense is based off the run. It’s a misconception because we do hit so many big pass plays. I do completely agree with you on Georgia. Best team in college football. Also agree that game should be on a college campus. You’re not going to find one running the pass happy offense. Not here to troll. Here to talk football. I’ve been complimentary of Kentucky football. There’s a lot to like about yalls team. Think you guys had some bad breaks not go your way early like Levis getting injured. Could easily see Kentucky only having one loss right now and if some of the other things hadn’t happened earlier in the year and they got on a roll and the confidence got high who knows what might have happened in the game against us. I think stoops puts out a fantastic defense every year. Why are Tennessee trolls attracted to our message board? Why do they feel compelled to come here and gloat in our face? Are they they insecure? Really need Wilcox. Talk is he can come in and play early.
Have not seen in person. ESPN had Wilcox as somewhere around the 58th best RB and they had Keith as somewhere around the 79th best RB at one time. Both 3 stars. Wilcox has offer from Clemson and Spiller is his recruiter there so may be hard to get.Is he as good/better than Keith?
At some point you have to trust your coaches eval. I’m not as high on recruiting services rankings. A lot of that is how they looked at camps or even if they attended some camps and what the services think about the competition they are playing against, etc. by the way they do it a really good back like jahmyr Gibbs at bama gets ranked low if he doesn’t camp or can’t and they think he plays bad competition. They won’t waste time doing a real personal evaluation. They will look at metrics and numbers only. The services are good but not 100%. I’d trust the coaches who have seen them in person way more and especially if the recruit hasn’t been high profile on camping and playing in big high school games. Lots of Good backs go lightly recruited because of that.Have not seen in person. Don't know if Keith, or Wilcox for that matter, is the RB UK needs but they definitely have to get busy finding a replacement for CRod. Don't know how this pans out but UK has set themselves up to having to make one helluva portal haul in the off season if they want to keep their bowl streak alive in '23.1. It sucks...but Tn is hot program right now. They are cleaning up. And it's not cheating anymore if they are enticing with $$$....so that argument is old.
2. UK is in a huge issue now....not that this can't be overcome. But we have to replenish that RB room. Losing CRod and Smoke....and for all the talk UK has a stable...we've seen that was way overblown by UK fans. McClain is not an every down RB, Wright didn't look all that good when he had a chance and donut has been a bust.
So for the future. Maybe Ramone Jefferson comes back off injury...or maybe he moves on. For sure UK needs to get a portal RB now (which is always iffy to be so dependent) and maybe Wilcox comes in to UK. It is just so puzzling with the success and exposure of Benny and CRod...we can't draw highly rated RBs to UK yet.
UT does need a big back. You always need a big back for short yardage and goal line situations, which is why UT was using TE/H-Back Princeton Fant as a running fullback in those situations. You always need guys who can fall forward when they get hit.No big deal. Tennessee offense doesn’t really use a big back. Mainly use speedy backs and receivers. He also visited South Carolina and if he’d rather go there than UK he’s too dumb anyways. Plenty of selections in the portal.
Agree. Recruiting services are there to make money first and foremost....period. Toward that end they cater to schools with a large number of subscribers. Don't know the numbers but you can bet UK has far fewer subscribers than GA or TN or UF, etc therefore services like Rivals will funnel their recruiting coverage to those schools and away from the UKs of the world. And all fans should consider that these recruiting "gurus" or "experts" were very likely cut from their middle school teams, know as much about these recruits as you and I. Trust your coaches, that's their job and if they're wrong enough times they'll be fired. At some point you have to trust your coaches eval. I’m not as high on recruiting services rankings. Doesn’t mean shit if UT can’t beat Georgia. And until they do, there’s no reason to believe they will.Yeah he will be a Vol. We needed a big back in this class.
So, UT shouldn't recruit good players because the Vols can't beat UGA? Interesting. I thought all along the entire purpose of recruiting was to try to build a roster to be able to compete with the likes of UGA.Doesn’t mean shit if UT can’t beat Georgia. And until they do, there’s no reason to believe they will.
But I digress—Mitch Barnhart is going to essentially burn the football program to the ground.
Yeah, Keith could be a lot better than Wilcox. I like Keith's size much better. In the SEC you need a couple of bruisers that can take punishment every season. No way of knowing which turns out better. At some point you have to trust your coaches eval. I’m not as high on recruiting services rankings. Absolutely right and that’s why you see them get bumped in stars when they get an offer from a bigger school and then more big schools offer and they keep getting bumped up. It’s lazy evaluations by servicesAgree. Recruiting services are there to make money first and foremost....period. Toward that end they cater to schools with a large number of subscribers. True. Also who knows what they blossom into after a year or two in a big programs weight and training room. Some are about topped out in high school and some barely had any of that and blossomYeah, Keith could be a lot better than Wilcox. I like Keith's size much better. That drubbing was something we haven't seen for a while in the TN game. I was told our two corners was who crapped the game up for us the most, not the safeties. Hopefully we get something out of it if they learned something that will help against GA.Not here to troll. Here to talk football. I’ve been complimentary of Kentucky football. If you are really this uninformed about the Vol O you probably shouldn’t push reply. 3:1 pass , seriously do you know how far off this is ?You’re not going to find one running the pass happy offense. In Heupel’s offense it’s 3:1 pass to run. Can he promise him 20 touches a game? You guys ran into a team that is strong and fast. Georgia has overpowering strength and sneaky speed. I think statistically TN actually runs more than pass and GA passes more than runs.If you are really this uninformed about the Vol O you probably shouldn’t push reply. 3:1 pass , seriously do you know how far off this is ?
Not sure about UGA's pass/rush ratio, but through 9 games in 2022 UT has rushed the ball 389 times, averaging 187.9 ypg, while passing the ball 284 times (with 202 completions), averaging 335.9 ypg. JH's offense, like most offenses, works best when balanced. Very hard to throw over the top if those safeties don't respect your run game.I think statistically TN actually runs more than pass and GA passes more than runs.
Well that sucks !!! WTF is going on with our lackluster recruiting ?
Nope, it means running off to your rival message board to talk shit about a recruit sorta falls flat when getting said recruit ultimately does nothing to change the balance of the conference. Nice try though, Wolf. So, UT shouldn't recruit good players because the Vols can't beat UGA? Interesting. Except that I haven't talked 'sh*t' about the recruit. That's just you making up a strawman to argue against.Nope, it means running off to your rival message board to talk shit about a recruit

I guess you COULD say , if Tennessee wants to beat Georgia they should be getting excited about flipping Georgia recruits because……will flipping UK recruits enable them to beat Georgia. Doubtful .Nope, it means running off to your rival message board to talk shit about a recruit sorta falls flat when getting said recruit ultimately does nothing to change the balance of the conference. Getting confidence goes a long long way with young players. That game got away early and I think Kentucky kinda gave up early sorta and made the game score a lot worse than it should have been. Tennessees scheme isn’t seen that much in the sec and the go go go way they run it really catches you if you hesitate or make any small mistake they are 10 yards past you throwing it over your head. Has to be hard on young players with little college experience. I bet they will gain and get much better from that experience. That drubbing was something we haven't seen for a while in the TN game. I was told our two corners was who crapped the game up for us the most, not the safeties. Hopefully we get something out of it if they learned something that will help against GA.
