UK looks good at adding 3 more players...Ben Roberts

Not saying we can't or won't be good, but that we need to temper expectations. Especially after the performance in one all-star game. Also, we need to remember how much production we're losing.

Skal looked unstoppable in that game as well. We know how the rest of the story went.
Skal is the exception not the rule at the hoop summit. Go back and look at the top players from that game and how they have traditionally have done in college. Skal pretty much the only one who wasn't not only a heck of a college player but had great freshman seasons. What Vanderbilt did isn't a fluke he played like he had been playing pre summer injury. Murray Wiggins Kanter Davis wall the list goes on and on.

My question was about u saying that this team as I stands had limitations in regards to the tourney. I actually feel this group tho young is more balanced than this past season. College basketball will also be down a bit with perhaps a record number of one and done players entering the draft. So even the growing pains we usually go thru may not be as bad. The sec on the other hand is already being projected as high as 3rd. Barring injury if things follow suite like most of Cal's teams this team will be scary defensively almost from the start and if Gabriel an Jones improve look out. I think this team has no limits on how far they can go in the tourney.

Shooting? Green is the only guy currently on the roster who is going to get significant playing time and who is expected to be a respectable threat. Even if we get Baker or Johnson, there are serious question marks about how much either of those guy will contribute next year. Johnson was on a terrible team and Baker is a three star.

Also we are really young. We're going to lose a few games we have no business losing. The SEC is going to be decent and we'll play a good preconference schedule like always.

This seems like one of those years where people shouldn't be shocked if we have around 10 losses by the end of the season.

Now as we've seen, that doesn't mean we can't do something in the post season. However, we'll have stretches where people freak out about whether or not we are actually good or not.

False. Both SGA and Washington shot over 40% from three this year. Both will be capable of hitting open 3's. Also, the word is Diallo has been working on his shot and looks improved. Every single year people say UK will be a bad shooting team and every year theyre proven wrong. The exception to that is the 2010 team, which I guess is part of the reason this false stigma keeps happening every single year.

This would be considered the greatest recruiting class of all time...

Mo Bamba *****
Hamidou Diallo *****
Jarred Vanderbilt *****
P.J. Washington *****
Quade Green *****
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ****
Jemarl Baker ****
Cam Johnson (grad transfer)

...thats a ready made team from jump street. Add in Wenyen and Sacha and you have seven 5-stars and a handful of other guys who can contribute from day one. If this works out, I actually expect the NCAA to step in and find some way to make it illegal to sign this many top recruits again.

You forgot one:

Baker is a four star. Gabriel had the green light to shoot the 3 so he can hit it. Johnson being on a bad team has nothing to do with whether he can contribute. He did it vs very good competition at a very high rate. UNC didn't shoot 3s well and just cut down the net.

You're right I should. As of now I have no one on ignore. Not even posters like Zay. Maybe I should use that feature

I too think we will be looking great come late January thru March.
Speaking of your favorite posters as going for 9 showed up at your house yet? I loved how everytime he would post you would reply with your address lol. It's amazing he's disappeared since the season ended

You're right, someone ranked in the 80's is still technically a 4 star. My bad. Doesn't change the fact I don't think it's fair to expect him to be a big impact player next year.

Johnson only averaging 11 points on a terrible team should definitely raise some questions about how much of an impact he will have.

Illinois with recent coaching addition, Orlando Antigua, are in hot pursuit of Cam Johnson.
This should be an interesting battle for Johnson's services given Coach O's recruiting prowess and relationship with Calipari.
