UK jumps Duke in AP

Yeah Samson Johnson gets raw blocks but fouls at an insane rate and doesn’t have the ability to anchor the low post. Selecting block % as a positive attribute is fair but they rank low in defensive metrics by and large. We will see how it plays out but I’m not sold on them yet.

They’re also 21st in opponents’ assist/TO rate. Those two metrics alone will win you a lot of games at the defensive end.

But hey, I’m all for them slipping this season. They have gotten in a groove that someone needs to break.

I think Auburn is a better team than UT ! Everyone has their opinion.

8 SEC teams ranked, with 3 right on the cusp.

The league is sick. I’d hate going into battle with Calipari on the sideline this year. I really think conference will be eye opening for their fans. Some have seen the cracks but this gauntlet will surely result in some classic Cal choke jobs. Interested to see how Pope gets the guys playing for 40 every game from here on out.

Hopefully they know how great it is because every game is a quad 1 opportunity especially on the road. Teams shouldn’t be punished for losses much. We have seen how Kansas was never docked for Big 12 losses and this is why.

I currently have UConn modeling 6th, but their raw score is better than it was at the same time last year, when they were 3rd.

They continued to improve throughout the season last year, and were clearly head and shoulders above the field by March. Competition looks to be more stiff this season.

They have definitely gotten it together. I do not know if they have what it takes this year because of the strength of field but they will be hurt from lack of conference wins this year although they should get by relatively easy. Hasn’t mattered in the past for them.

Auburn is a much better team than UT. I’m not even sure that is debatable.

What did Duke and Ky do different this week that should have changed the polls? Nothing. That just shows that last weeks polls were garbage and should of never had Duke ahead of Ky

Yeah. Should have been this way last week but the only potential argument was that they had 3 power 5 wins to our 2 (they also had an additional loss tho and lost the head to head).

Now that we have the H2H and a common opponent win where we looked better in comparison (they trailed by near double digits a big portion of the game)…hard to play dumb and rank them higher based on comparing teams ranked 100-300

But ya'll get ready, because by February Duke may be #1. I mean the ACC is so bad, they shouldn't lose any at home, and only will have 3-4 challenging road games. So they may still have 2 losses come Feb 1. Meanwhile every team in the SEC will probably have 1+ conference losses by then.

Dooks schedule looks like UKs did for years. Sec rarely had any teams ranked other than UK. Sec was just a cake walk. Duke shouldn’t lose a game.
