UK jumps Duke in AP

What did Duke and Ky do different this week that should have changed the polls? Nothing. That just shows that last weeks polls were garbage and should of never had Duke ahead of Ky

People voted differently, I guess. Nothing has changed much though.

I think it was a combo of Butler going 10 for 10 from the field including 6 of 6 from 3 and Oweh’s steal and emphatic slam that caused UK to jump Duke.

Hell, Id have put UK numero uno after Oweh did that ish!!!
It was nasty

Only thing I can see is we got a win over a power 4 team while Duke played one cupcake this week. I agree with you that last week's poll made no logical sense.

These pollsters are morons and use recency bias every week. The polls are meaningless though fortunately.

Indiana gets blown out for a THIRD time, this time by Nebraska, and still has nothing close to a Tier 1 or Top 25 win, and some morons are still keeping them in the "others receiving votes" category. I can only guess that some voters paid so little attention they assumed this was the poll for women's volleyball or soccer.

A LOT of folks pointed out last week how ridiculous it was for Duke to be ranked ahead of UK and some of the ones who had voted Duke ahead of UK were embarassed and changed their vote this week. I also thought we'd pass Auburn this week after they lost and have no idea why Iowa St. with one loss is ranked ahead of any SEC one loss team.

Auburn didn’t lose 🤔

Damn man.. a few days ago I said if Iowa could have held onto beating ISU, then the SEC would have the 1st, 2nd and 3rd ranked schools.. in mid December

The secret is the polls are always garbage and the voters don't even watch the games.

I think the difference was the uncertainty of how long Butler might be out. But he is clearly back and A-OK.

But ya'll get ready, because by February Duke may be #1. I mean the ACC is so bad, they shouldn't lose any at home, and only will have 3-4 challenging road games. So they may still have 2 losses come Feb 1. Meanwhile every team in the SEC will probably have 1+ conference losses by then.

I also wouldn't count out Gonzaga and UCONN being in the top five again as both will likely steamroll their conference foes.

For sure on UConn. They've gone up 8 spots and then another 7 spots this week. By the 1st of the year they'll have them ranked 1 at this rapid rate
It's actually kind of scary how good they are with the roster they have. The only transfer of note is sitting on the end of the bench and the rotation they're playing includes one frosh ranked #15 and a second round pick and about 6 returning players that combined to average about 20 ppg last year. Pretty much all but Karaban and Mahaney will return next year and I'd say they might be one good freshman and a couple good portal guys away from another championship. If he wins this year with this roster we might be looking another Wooden type run.

They sure didn’t look too good in Maui

Yeah I’m not as high on them as some of the people on this thread. They didn’t shoot good at all and beat Gonzaga in a pseudo-home game at MSG. They beat the 13th best team in the SEC on the road and now the media starts to crow as though they are 1972 UCLA. That is a team with significant flaws and, while they can absolutely score, they really don’t have a Clingan to clean up their defensive miscues. I continue to be impressed by Solo Ball though…he’s got a lot of upside. Don’t think they are a contender.

But they beat the Zags with Karaban shooting 0/7 from three so they're definitely playing better. I'm not predicting them to win it all again this year; I'm just saying they're looking better than it seems like they should with the roster they have this year.
