UK has SEVEN Quad 1 Wins……

Not just 7 Q1 wins, but all 7 are upper-level Q1 wins.
What do I mean "upper level"?
Q1 is 1-30 for a Home game, 1-50 for a Neutral court game, and 1-75 for an Away game.
Our Home Q1 wins are over #5, 16, 25
Our Neutral Q1 wins are over #3, 11
Our Away Q1 wins are over 4, 22
So 5 of our 7 Q1 wins are vs top third of possible Q1 opponents, and we are 1 spot away (TAMU is 16) from 6 of the 7 wins being vs top 1/2 of possible Q1 opponents. A lot of other team with several Q1 wins have more of them over teams in the bottom half of Q1.

When Oweh went to the line for the a pair of free throws when we were only up 1, I legitimately started seeing spots all over the room. My heartrate was so high that I had to sit down for fear of passing out haha.

Only BBN has fans like this in college basketball, I swear.
I bet it's been a few years since you've this emotionally involved with the team. I'm right there with you. The former coach made me so frustrated I lost some enthusiasm and I got tired of ending up so disappointed.

That is what infuriates me about Cal's last 5 years here. He robbed us of it meaning that much to us because we became numb to losing.

Pope has done a great job. Taking nothing away from him. That said, he has guys from the portal that are men instead of 18/19 year old boys. That’s the difference. Combine that with his coaching and you have the results.

Last year had me every bit as invested because I loved that group of guys. And I really, truly thought they had the wheels to make a deep run.

Totally underestimated Cal's ability to blow it.

It's all we have. Football sucks, baseball is okay (for now, but who really watches baseball games on TV) no pro teams

Most of our towns are little holes in the earth with walmarts. UK basketball is our one foothold in all of sports and one thing we can really feel proud about.

Don't get me wrong I love KY its my home and it is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. But we don't have a whole lot to get excited about when it comes to entertainment. Especially outside of the major cities.

And thos4 Quad 1 wins are high, 6 of 7 against ranked opponents. Only one not ranked Zags. Maybe now we can move up in the NET, currently 16th, 6 teams ahead of us we beat including Zags lmfao.

Hell ARZ with 1 good win they just got. Only their 2nd win against the top 40 is 11th. TT is ahead if us, AM, Purdue 9th. Illinois 10th and HOU with 1 Quad 1 win is 2nd. Lot of love for beating a soso KU team. Yet we are 16th.

Only 1 team AUB has more Quad 1 wins and are Quad 1 wins are 1A. 12 of our games have been Quad 1, 7-5, all other Quads 8 games.

Also 5 teams ahead of us have at least 1 Quad2 loss, TT has 2.
Make it make sense!

Wow. Didnt realize.
Yep. Mainly due to most of our losses have been in conference.

But by Net Ranking:

Clemson is 30
Ohio St is 28
UGA is 35
Alabama is 7
Vandy is 38

Meaning our worst loss by ranking is a road game to Vandy. Where we should’ve won.

We have NO bad losses by ranking. Our worst loss of course is that torpedoing by Ohio St.

If we can manage to heal up and hold at home (which will be hard) we can head into postseason in good shape.

People forget this. We have no pro teams. NONE. And we are one of the few states in the union that are that way.

Even NFL teams that are close to us are not great (Titans for us southern KY and Bengals for NKY).

It’s just different here and very few people that weren’t born here will get that.
