Happy Halloween, HOB! Back over at the JCFTC for the end of today’s practice. It’s Tuesday, so that means we’ll be speaking with OC Liam Coen and select coaches/players from the offensive side of the ball. They’re scheduled to wrap up around 5:30 ET. Stay tuned for the latest news and notes…

LIAM COEN Q&A:

* PlAyer’s were devastated Saturday night. Wanted to win that game really bad, so it hurt. Emotional. But you also saw an excitement to get back to practice and build on what they did well.

* Getting a better feel for what Devin likes and is comfortable with. Now they have to marry it to better run game. They’ve done some nice things in both running and passing at times this season but never have played 4 quarters of it. That’s what they’re looking for.

* Huge when Barion can make those 50/50 plays he made Saturday. So important for this offense. You could tell it gave him some extra juice today. Had a really good practice.

* MSU defense is a pain in the butt. That defense will fly around. Total respect for what they do.

* Tough to play down there. I’m sure they’ll have a lot of confidence going into it. Worked with cowbell noise today. Good that a couple of key players have been down there before and experienced it.

* Asked if he’s experienced a team that started putting things together late in the season, Coen compared it somewhat to 2021 team that took a while to start clicking. Once it happens, it‘s interesting to see how the players react. Even though they were mad that they lost Saturday, they were also fired up about what they showed.

* Arnett doing some of the same things defensively as last time Cats went down there (a lot of 3-3-5 stuff). “I won‘t be copying that game plan again.” It’s a unique defensive look that the Cats really don’t see against anyone else.
