LIAM COEN Q&A:
* On the SC defense… Had a bead on some things in their advance scouting, but Gamecocks made a shift in what they were doing to something similar to what Mississippi State does. It really threw Vandy off, understandably. Annoying for a play-caller.
* Thinks the players understand what’s on the line here. We have to have this one. Kinda nice to be on the road, us against the world mentality.
* On priorities for roster building with December drawing closer… Expects some attrition. Have a lot of things to figure out. But main focus is we have to win this game this week.
* Thinks guys still have a bad taste in them about losing this game at home last year. Will be inspired.
* On Leary and not seeing middle of field well or having balls batted down lately… Alabama caused some of those issues. That hasn’t bothered him as much against other defenses. Plus, he‘s really good at slinging it down the field in his career, so he likes the deep sidelines.
* Alabama taking it to a new level right now, doing things you didn‘t see from them a couple of weeks ago. They’re going to make a few more opponents look like that.
