Hello HOB. Back over at the JCFTC for today’s practice report. It’s Offense Tuesday, so we’ll have OC Liam Coen, select coaches and players from that side of the ball joining us at approx 5:15 ET today. Stay tuned…

LIAM COEN Q&A:

* On what he’d like to see in a game against an overmatched opponent, Coen points out Chattanooga was No. 6 defense in FCS last year, so it’s not gonna be as easy as some people might believe. They are a sound defense that doesn’t give up a lot of big plays, he added. Totally different look from what Mizzou showed.

* A lot of examples out there of FCS teams “beating the brakes” off FBS teams, Coen said, so they won’t have too much trouble getting the Cats’ attention about being ready to play. Coen has experience as the FCS guy trying to knock off the FBS guy. Should have won a couple of those, he said. You go into it with a mindset of "nothing to lose."

* Coen said Luke Fortner made an incredible play (and a smart one) to spring the big play to Rigg. Got out and just scraped the guy who was coming across. Anything more would have been a crack-back block.

* Coen was happy with the balance in the Mizzou game. They actually called 26 pass plays. Scrambles and sacks obscure that sometimes, but they were close to being where they wanted to be.

* Ball security was biggest focal point today. All the skill players went thru three different stations of drills on that today.

* “If we own the line of scrimmage this week, the rest will take care of itself,” Coen said.

* On Rodriguez fumbles near goal line, Coen said it may be a case of just being too relaxed thinking you’re already in. They’ve got his attention about it now.

* On not using the “doghouse” against kids… I make mistakes, too, Coen said. Nobody puts me in the doghouse for a ball call.

* Asked about Will Levis’s film: Good. Played really well. Same pick on same play he had in Game 1.Just needs to relax and take a bit off of those. Hard for a QB to learn when he’s got a huge arm. But really good at running the operation. Handled the 5-6 audibles in the game plan well. Used his legs nicely. Played really hard, really tough, and guys are starting to rally around him even more.

* On the athleticism of the O-Line… Really good, Coen said. Pulled guards, tackles, tight ends quite a bit against Missouri. Gives you a lot of options with variety in the run game.

* The backs’ vision improved from weeks 1 to 2. A lot better on the cut-back runs on the backside.
