Hello HOB. Good Thursday afternoon to y’all. We’ll be meeting with UK head coach Mark Stoops for the final time this week after today’s practice. Stay tuned for the latest news and notes at approx 5 ET…

* A bit of good news to start out with. Haven’t seen Darian Kinnard walking off the practice field on TUE or WED, but he was out there with the 1s at the end of today’s practice.

MARK STOOPS Q&A:

* Good week of practices, Stoops says. Dialed in. Motivated. Seem to be in good spirits. Eager to get down to Georgia and play.

* Stoops says he feels like this team is in a good spot of “just taking care of business until they prove me otherwise.”

* Asked about Darian Kinnard this week, Stoops says they’ve been very cautious with him, not 100%, but he’s giving it everything he can. With the future that he has ahead of him, Stoops says he’s shown character by playing while hurting. He distinguished between hurting and injured.

* On whether he expects a defensive struggle… You just never know, Stoops said. “That’s what makes it fun and exciting.”

* On Brad White getting attention for his work as DC… Stoops says he deserves it. Nationally, DCs don’t always get attention that OCs do. It’s really nice to see him getting accolades.

* Asked if his guys seem motivated on D after hearing all week how good UGA is, Stoops says he doesn’t use that to motivate them — they take pride in themselves no matter what — but if individual players use it for some extra juice, that’s fine.

* OL Jeremy Flax was out last week on a disciplinary issue, Stoops said. He’s back and ready to play this week.

* On the depth at RB… Doing great this week. Very unselfish. Different skill sets, but confident in all of them.

* On DJ Eliot being around lately… Don’t read too much into it, Stoops said. He’s stayed with Stoops several times this summer. Said his daughter is fighting a health issue. Offers prayers for that.

* On the young guys at DL this week… Stoops says they’re stepping up. Also need Abule Abadi-Fitzgerald to play at a higher level. “I anticipate that they’re going to play hard, and play well.”

* Asked about the QB situation at Georgia… Prepare for both guys the same way, Stoops said. You just have to be aware that Bennett can get the designed runs more often.

* Past couple of weeks have been very businesslike, Stoops said. Really likes the approach this team has taken.
