UK express interest in Tulane 6-8 guard, see him as intriguing prospect

1. I'd be all of for signing this kid....9 pts a game, 48%FG, 41%3pt...but 1.4 steals and 4.8 reb....he's got some defensive chops from those numbers and efficient shooter.
2. But my question is.....he looks like a SF all the way to me...which is great. But how is the roster playing out

PG: Portal/Acaden Lewis..I hope
SG: Is Oweh moving to SG or staying as more SF...I get they are interchangeable...is Jasper a SG and depth to Oweh?
SF: Kam Williams to me is a SF (not a PF)....then is Oweh/Chandler/Noah.....that is a bit of a logjam on the wings
Jasper sg oweh sf as starter

This kid could be sf2 chandler sg2

Where all the Power Forwards at? Jasper Chandler and Oweh gonna eat a lot of minutes at sg/sf but barring Garrison playing PF we need two good ones they are so rare to find legit stretch 4’s. We aren’t gonna have any problems getting a center and point guard or even more shooters but PF are like unicorns.

We desperately need some size on the wing. It's something we lacked all year. Jaxson is 6-7 but played much smaller.

I don't think Pope will hesitate to recruit over Noah. I love Noah too but we need a 6-8 guy that can guard bigger SEC wings and help out on the boards. And he shoots over 40 percent from 3 to boot. Would love to sign this kid. Hopefully a returning Oweh won't scare him off.

This is a pf target

Play against Bama in tournament, tight game, has 15+10

We don’t need Jasper Johnson starting, why do people keep acting like he has to be a starter, we would be a better team if he and Lewis are backups in year one, Jasper isn’t a one and done
He will be OAD, he is that good

He is on Tyty level and usually this level of freshmen are mostly oad

Need several athletic wings and guards if we're going to be more aggressive on defense like everyone claims they want. Especially to get through the rugby match known as the SEC schedule. An athletic guy that shows good offensive potential (think Oweh) is a better investment than a guy who maybe puts up gaudy scoring numbers but is limited athletically and defensively. I like targeting these "diamond in the rough" types that could be shined up real nice in the Pope system.

Re. Kam Williams, per the Tulane site:

"Prior to Tulane: Rated a four-star prospect and the second-rated player in Louisiana according to ESPN coming out of Lafayette Christian Academy… Helped Lafayette Christian reach the 2024 Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA state tournament quarterfinals as a senior finishing with a 26-8 record… Earned LSWA Class 4A All-State selection following his senior season… Led Lafayette Christian to the second round of the 2023 LHSAA State Tournament as a junior finishing with a 31-9 record… Averaged a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds to go with five assists as a junior… Helped his team finish as the LHSAA District III state runner-up as a sophomore in 2022."

How in the world does a kid with those accolades escape LSU out of HS? We know it is not their academic standards (not that ours our tough either).

He is the guy I like the best out of all of our portal prospects so far. Don't know why people are claiming he is a depth piece or project, I think he is easily a starter and one of our top 3 scorers next season if he comes.

One limitation on our roster this year is our wings are either primarily shooters or cutters. This guy is elite at both. Oweh is an alright shooter and Brea and Robinson got better at cutting, but none of those guys are as good at both skills as Kam Williams is now.

He can also get a midrange shot off if required with his dive step. When you are late in the shot clock, you are gonna need guys like him, Jasper and Acaden who can create their own without just plowing to the rim. System fits are great, but sometimes, you need creators.
