This…This is what Rupp should should sound like! Reminds me of years ago! GBB!!!!!
I was there asking folks to sit down. They didn't listen.I was there and yes, the crowd was loud. Most of the crowd even stood for most of the game, even standing through timeouts.
Yeah… this can’t really be true. There is a whole host of posters on here who gleefully trample all over the fans who pay their hard earned money for their tickets, and tell us all the time how dull and horrible those fans are. Yet, we have an electric atmosphere when it makes sense for games that don’t involve some directional, popcorn state schools as the opponent.Wait…. what… Nobody complaining about the Rupp crowd?
I was at that one also, so I know if it got that loud it’s saying something.that was an amazing crowd and my first ever UK game and first ever time at Rupp. I’ll never forget it.I was at the Florida game in 2003 and there were a couple points today when it reached that level of deafening. Great crowd.
Seems not everyone was happy.Yeah… this can’t really be true. I would imagine this was an individual who was continuously standing unnecessarily when everyone else was seated, and continues to refuse to sit down despite requests to stop blocking the view of others.
I assume there is nothing in the terms of the ticket that addresses standing up? Also Rupp policies only seem to address disorderly conduct. Hard to classify standing at a game as disorderly conduct.I would imagine this was an individual who was continuously standing unnecessarily when everyone else was seated, and continues to refuse to sit down despite requests to stop blocking the view of others.
There were also plenty of posters on this forum who swore the ushers would never address such scenarios at Rupp, yet here is proof otherwise.
I’m not an attorney. I have no clue about the legality of the situation. I’m simply stating this has always been the practice in Rupp. Unnecessarily obstructing the view of others is not tolerated.I assume there is nothing in the terms of the ticket that addresses standing up? Also Rupp policies only seem to address disorderly conduct. Hard to classify standing at a game as disorderly conduct.
Regardless to send a police officer down is very heavy handed and excessive if all that was at issue was standing. If, and it’s a big if, a police officer was sent down at the behest of a blue jacket and the officer threatened arrest as stated in another tweet, then the blue jacket needs terminated and the officer suspended. To trespass a paying fan for standing is ridiculous.
