Anyways, he said Archie won't do much better than Crean. I really hope this is one of those very few times that he's wrong. But if he's right you all will be able to keep bumping that one thread you have going.
And there it is......

By the way, IU sucks.

A major win next year? That'd be a major win ANY year for Indiana, considering the IUstobes have done better than that precisely ONCE since the last year George Bush's DAD was president. That always amazes me. Kentucky fans are a bit disappointed to have only reached the Elite Eight six times since 2010. Indiana has reached it once since 1993.
I think Archie is the first good coach they've had in a long time so all of that should change

We'll see. Nothing will undo 30 years of mediocrity. But that doesn't guarantee an endless future of terrible performance. As for Archie, he's been a decent mid-major coach. Sort of like Crean without a Final Four appearance. He was not as accomplished as Shaka Smart, to name one 'rising star' at the mid-major level who has bombed so far on a bigger stage.
He just needs the right players and I think he'll get them. Shaka will be fine as he's starting to being in better talent now. Archive will recruit well right off the bat. It won't be all 5 star but it'll be all top 100 with plenty in the top 50. Have to give the guy a few years though to bring them in. Even if he lands a Romeo or Garland or someone like that it means nothing if he doesn't bring in good talent every year to surround the centerpiece of each recruiting class.

"He just needs the right players and I think he'll get them." This is where I ran into the issues that got me banned at the Peegs board. The 'old school' mentality still reigns in Bloomington. They still believe that in today's college basketball landscape, they can get 4-year players, they'll all graduate and be academic all-stars as well.

So...... what if Archie starts trying to go the OAD route? What then...?

Haha nope I think he'll get them to over achieve next year and make the sweet 16. I would have to consider that a major win next year.

You might need to check your math facts pal. If EyeEwe manages to get a 4 or 5 seed, a sweet 16 appearance doesn't qualify as over-achievement.

That being said, if they get that far next season, I'd consider that an effin miracle (for you).

I'm not that IU fan that is against how Cal recruits. I think a coach should go out and get the best he can and if they leave after a year you replace them with the best you can. Ha and I'm currently banned myself for speaking the truth in a non pc way that ruffled feathers and when a few guys attacked me I attacked back and bam...banned for a month. And I even do the pay site.

If Archie gets next year's team to a 4 or 5 seed and to the sweet 16 it's a win considering the talent that is there. There is some talent there I just don't know if they're deep enough to win a couple games in the tourney.

While you're here could you bump the thread when Indiana sucks?
Haha I'll pass. I would if they hadn't fired Crean as I was done until he was gone. Next year's team isn't loaded with talent but I guarantee they'll be a lot more fun to watch than last year's team.
